    :hello:

I should never try to shop in a smaller supermarket again:mad:. It was only because the main store was out of cereal - who on earth is buying Cheerios at £3.18:eek:?

No 10p haribos of any kind. At all. No White Mice or Rainbow Buttons. In fact only 10p sweets they had were Refresher Bar (just calculated to be an N/A and not even any of the two Giant stripes ones - none of either of those either) and the Flump (the flump looked risky as it's had a pack design change:mad:) - only one SP Water, no Sparkling Water at all so down by a further different item, and not much loose veg. either.

However. This may therefore be store-specific and may apply to ex-Nettos only but... having tried to reach the amount of spend, and so much time on different permutations of different SP items.... the blasted Cheerios then went through at £1.58:mad::mad:. Wanted to be £3.18 vs £1.59 T to give any real APG back, especially as they were the only item on the shop really giving any APG:mad:. It may be that they are still £1.58 today but are changing in price tomorrow up to £3.18 as showing online. So, it may be a C&C item vs T.

    Afternoon all.

Question regarding local Facebook groups - does anyone belong to one and if so have the rules and way it works changed recently?

I had a bit of a dabble before and sold a few things.

So I thought I would have another go at sorting some clutter out. So firstly I did a search but the search function is no longer working - you used to be able to just put your name into the search box top right and your previous listings came up so you could just bump them.

So now it means starting from scratch each time now

It also now says maximum of 5 items - that limit was not there a few weeks ago.
Otherwise it says to put things into an album - I think that means one FB message, all the photos plus a list of prices - but I like to put a description for each item.

I then wondered about doing ebay listing instead but with free collection - we are allowed 20 free listings a month - but then you still have to pay huge fees.

I don't think I am in the right mindset really for tackling any more of my clutter - I did start off OK this week - big bag of stuff to the food bank, clothing to the Oxfam clothing bank and another box and bag of stuff to the Oxfam shop. Also filled 5 Christmas shoe boxes and delivered them to the drop off point. I also took all of the summer skirts and some of the summer tops out of the wardrobe and boxed them up neatly in the under-bed box.

Ive also been to 2 places today both with Marks and forgot to go in.

On the Dine in promotion this weekend there is supposed to be turkey roasts and I meant to check their size and suitability - just wondered about having 2 small rather than one big as there are only 4 of us for Christmas dinner and don't like having vast amounts of left overs.

Also I think the buy 6 bottles of wine get 25% off offer might be still on - I wondered if this would work alongside the Dine promotion ???

A question - what is an acceptable amount of carbohydrates to have in one meal?

we went to Lidl and we got seduced by the glossy packaging so we got 2 of the very posh chicken pies to try.- they do look very nice.

On the way back OH asked if I had any of the Tilda rice - lime and coriander?
I said why - I thought we were having posh pie for dinner with OHs famous roast potatoes?

OH said he wanted rice as well - pastry, roast potatoes and lime and coriander rice - 3 carbs on one plate
No idea where OH has got this idea from that it is normal to pile the pile with so much stodge.

The discussion rapidly escalated and possibly we are either having no dinner now or only pizza

Yes we made it to Lidl today but OH was not in a shopping mood - goodness knows what people think, me being followed about by someone loudly and very pointedly yawning - wish I'd left him in the car.

We had done the initial circuit and I was about to do a 2nd sweep up and down the aisles when OH decided he had enough and started emptying the trolley onto the belt - its OK he said there are 2 people in front, plenty of time for you to go and get what else you need - no there isn't, the till girls there scan like fury.

so it was only at that point that I found the Cherry brandy for £5.99 and the Suddenly perfume for £1.99  - missed the 17p dark chocolate, the bags of apples, hyacinths for 69p, goodness knows what else I missed ...

In Greece it is "normal" to have potatoes and rice, most of our meals out there consisted of chips and rice and whatever else we were having! Certainly wouldn't choose to have both with pie though!!

chips and rice - yes I could see them going together esp if there was some sort of sauce as well - but the pastry as well is a step too far :D
