when you flew in how did you get to your hotel from the airport - I seem to think there is an airport bus, remember seeing it I think but if so where di it drop you off?

And on your bus trips where did they pick you up from?

There is a ring road that does a circuit of Iceland but the complete route is only really open in the summer and I think it takes a couple of days to do the complete route

We had a fly bus transfer included in our package. The buses wait outside. You can pay at a window at the airport, pre-book or get it included in a package. Took about 50 mins to an hour to get to our hotel.

The bus trips picked us up from our hotel. Very convenient :)

The roads are very very quiet Ellie and the drivers were certainly very courteous to pedestrians and each other. We didn't hear a single beep the whole time we were there. There were often roads our coach was driving down where we didn't see another car for ages. Bliss.
I've driven in Iceland and can vouch for that; one of our co-drivers went the wrong way round a roundabout, and you would have thought it was every other drivers' fault but ours, the way they gave way and pointed us in the right direction:rotfl:

But, driving off-road over there is another matter ... there's no 'rules of the road' - at one point we got run off the 'road' (really just no more than a line of yellow markers across what looked like a moonscape), I've never been so scared in my life before:eek:

Anyway, Em, did you have a great time? Point me in the direction of your holiday write-up if you've already told the tale, thanks:)
