Dubai was wonderful :) We spent a week lying beside the pool in almost 40 degree sunshine, reading books, drinking cheap booze and eating tons of yummy food. I haven't felt so well-rested in all my days. Time to start saving hard for a repeat performance next year ;)

SO jealous. SO jealous I may not speak to you again! OH and I need a holiday, did a week in gran canaria in March but it wasn't quite hot enough and all I could do was read and fall asleep on a sun lounger. Did read a book a day while we were out there though.

Micro Dermabrasion scrub; WDNB, came in my Birchbox, it felt like rubbing broken glass into my face. The scrubby particles are olives stone shards and it was so rough, I wouldn't even have used it on my feet. FLING!

    Sorry this made me :rotfl:
Imperial Leather Foamburst shower gel in blackberry and wild fig; this is now my HG shower product. Love love love the scent, love love love the foam and the feel, love love love the fact it's just as nice as my Rituals foaming shower gel but it's roughly a quarter of the price if you buy when on offer (and it so often is)

Weirdly this is on my 'to buy' list (along with half of boots and most of molton brown/neom, anyway) For some reason I've never bought it but love the idea of the foam and so many smells!

I have a couple of IN's to declare. Was £2 short of £100 for the Boots points evening so bought a couple of Imperial Leather shower gels.

Fear I may be on the REALLY naughty step after tonight though, as QVC have a fab Elemis Special Value on, tempted to get 2. :(

That sent me straight off to the qvc website. Must not click!

    Hi Roquey
Sorry that you are finding life tough, sometimes we can bounce back better than others:( Sending virtual hugs to you and to all that are feeling a bit down or a bit poorly at the moment. xx

Thanks for the link, just had a quick look and lots there that I need to introduce or re-introduce into my life, such as turning off the tv or radio and playing music. When life was particularly horrid at one stage, I used to drive to work playing very loud music or Susan Jeffers CD's and out loud to myself play "the glad game", often with tears streaming down my face, I am sure it helped, and at least I was not just sitting back and letting it all smack me in the place. Life is pretty good to me now, even if my health is up and down, but I do need to simplify and use what I have with more joy.

Back OT your nails sound great, I did the gel base about a week ago and am really keeping on top of the cuticle oil and hand cream so that my nails don't dry out, and it is great just whipping off the ordinary nail polish and re-doing without having to do the full works. Nails as of this morning are Nails Inc Marlebone Mews, one of the freebies last week. Toes are still awaiting colour:o

Thank you, you are lovely :iloveyou:
I did exactly the same thing, driving to work crying many years ago. My song (oh the irony) was 'Defying Gravity'. Yep I was the person sitting in traffic belting out show tunes. Says it all about me really.
There is something about singing loud and long that is really almost the same physical release as screaming. Sometimes it sounds like it too :rotfl:

Having a clear gel mani and using normal nail polishes on top really is the way forward in my view. Which leads me on to...
  • Forgive me forum for I have sinned (hmm I have some gorgeous silver rose crosses upstairs, I might go knock up a rosary style necklace. I'm having a Kathryn de Mertuil kind of day) it has been five minutes since my last confession.

I have now grown my nails, painted them with a clear gel mani, and paint that with Nails Inc Motcomb Street. Showed my nails off at work, everyone loved them, commented on how gorgeous my nails were.

I knew I wanted a fast dry top coat because gel nails have ruined me, and was also thinking about a magnetic nail polish to get a gorgeous effect on my new nails.

I went to Boots and Tesco and came out with:

    Barry M Glitterati VIP

    Barry M Mermaid collection Pacific

    Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

    So much for
    1. 1 Not spending money this weekend
    2. 2 Using up my toiletries
    3. 3 Decreasing my stash - I'm never going to get to 299 by Xmas at this rate!!

So on top of my clear gel mani I am now wearing two coats of Motcomb Street (dark dark navy almost black) topped with two coats of Barry M VIP. It looks a bit Katy Perry, a bit like a galaxy on my fingernails, and generally pretty awesome.

I've also been considering recreating/making alternatives to neom bath oils using a spoon like this to mix oils on and drop them in the bath

I don't know why a spoon like this, it just popped in to my head.
  • Two more UUs for me today!

Lush Whoosh shower jelly. WDBA. I love this as much as Sweetie Pie (see previous post). This one is lemon/lime/rosemary and smells for all the world like Sherbet Lemons. I love really strong scented citrus-y things!

Soap & Glory Slimwear - never buying again. Did absolutely nothing for me. Meant to be a peptide balm that reduces the appearance of cellulite/makes your thighs look firmer but even in conjunction with 5-6 days of exercise a week and a healthy diet there's been no noticeable improvement. Nothing more than a nice-smelling lotion.

UU: lush snow fairy 100mls. It's a HG product and I still have loads of bottles left from the 30 they sent in place of 500ml bottles in the xmas sale last yr, despite me having given loads away and giving them out to the kids for their toiletry bags when we were on hold and stuff

I also have a definite UU for tomorrow morning: lush hedgehog bubble bar. It stinks as a whole but when some is crumbled off in the bath it smells quite nice but I'm more a fruit/sweet smelling liker than herby which the hedgehog smells. It will have done 4 baths can't decide whether I like it enough to buy more but I reckon I would get a couple in the sale

I've heard so many bad things about that eyeliner that I didn't bother getting the mag!

Have you tried the intensive foot rescue? Do you know how this compares? I have really awful thick clumps of dry skin that I've been trying to get rid of for years and no amount of moisturising and filing seems to be doing it :(

The peppermint foot rescue is ok, but I would suggest the African honey foot butter from TBS first. It helped sort out my mum's dry feet.
