NST November: battening down the hatches!

NSD number 14 today. Was off work with a stomach bug, so that certainly helped. One more to go to reach my target, hopefully tomorrow.
A few pounds left of our food budget, which has been a great eye-opener this month. First time I've persuaded DH to give it a try after totting up our SM spends in previous months, and he's quite pleased with the extra money we now have sitting in our account. Freezer and cupboards are still really full, so maybe next month we'll go for even less.
Hoping to be back to work in the morning, but still not feeling 100%Letting Go NST #17

Naughty step for me tonight. Running low on things like sugar, baby wipes, tea bags, salt etc. Somehow spent £60 and did two walks with jellytot in her pram refusing to walk. One to Mr A, the other to Mr L. Pram groaning on the way back from both. I can guarantee apart from the Xmas lamb and pigs in blankets I need no more meat this year!
Shot the budget to pieces. Groceries just shy of £200 this month.Roll on December as I am meal planning from tomorrow!!
Thanks for all the sweet thoughts about Jelly. Shes much better and it i a lot easier dealing with one sicky than two. Shes not been sick since Saturday mornings epic adventure so shes back at nursery tomorrow giving me the peace to buy some new paint for her room and get started.
LoveaDove good luck with the course. I would really love to do accounting but that is a future wish when Jelly is a bit more grown.
Off to bed... night all xx

loveadove - that sounds really exciting! It's very hard work but ultimately I've also found it very rewarding; it's nice sometimes to place what you do every day in a bit of theoretical context... doesn't hurt on the CV either
mothernerd - hope you managed to get the rubbish sorted out - maybe DS3 could do a bit of housework till you're more mobile?
NSD yesterday, will be today hopefully as no time to spend money!

Hi everyone:) sorry I've been Missing for a while. I've come down with an awful cold and am quite a mess! I haven't caught up on the thread properly, so plenty of hugs guys to those that need them
Some good news on the traveller frontmy daughter got a conditional offer from Manchester unI to do biomedical sciences :j she needed it as a back up in case she dosent get 3 A's to go straight into medicine. AIso, i had a call yesterday regarding that job I applied for last week. I've been selected for an interview! Slightly worried as I really need to read up on my skills as it requires a higher level than what I work to now, so i have two days to brush up. There is also a technical test too. But I'm grateful I got this far:T
Spends did take place while at Manchester, so not great, but it was for meals only, about 30 quid. I have not excercised!
Well I,m gonna catch up here, but have a great day everyone:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Just a quick dash in. SFD number 14 today so won't make my target of 20. But will make about 17 till payday on Friday.
Can't wait for the new challenge. Still need to do a lot for christmas, but monies are allocated and I was a bit more generous with my budgets for December so will hopefully be able to stay under.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Well reporting in. Had to buy gloves for grandson today, had a job to get gloves in my little town for 3 yr old anyhow got some for now good old Poundland. He was having a major trantrum this morning not having any.
12 SFD so far, got the dentist tomorrow already panicky about the cost, as split a molar tooth in half. Can see my credit card amount rising badly by Jan.
Loveadove not sure if it was me being over keen to pay my credit card or them. Have been penalised in the past for missing a payment so perhaps was me? Anyhow will just struggle along. Glad you are hitting the Iron tablets, I always have a problem giving blood with my iron levels, last time was a success tho. I try and eat eggys, black pudding (love it) and oily fish. Need lots of vit C to absorb it. Satsuma's rule this time of year.

Afternoon all,
Quicky form me, can't believe the month is nearly over! £30 out today for DH car, hopefully it's fixed, or else it'll be another £40 on top. Luckily all bits he can do the labour on.
Today I'm thankful for the lovely people I work with, cups of tea & wooly jumpers.
Sorry to post and run - will be catching up proper tomorrow
Happy Tuesday!0 -
Sooo sorry have been MIA for days! Have had horrid lurgy, then weekend away with girls (hopefully not spreading said lurgy too much) and back to lots of preparation for work inspection this week, had a meeting with inspectors this morning so hadn't been able to focus on much else....
My bit over now though, phew! And feeling almost human again, but not quite back to fighting fit yet.
Am counting both Sat and Sun as SFD's, as we'd paid for accommodation, etc, and had all put money in a kitty for weekend and came back with some pennies to spare, so not a penny of my own spent! Am also claiming Sat as an exercise day as we walked our socks off.
Had to get some staples in Mr T yesterday, including toilet rolls (should have gone to L!dl but had that dreaded £5 off voucher from Mr T so strayed), but another SFD bagged today so almost at target - hopefully can do it as only three left to get.
Have been whizzing through the posts I'd missed but will catch up properly later - glad you're back Mothernerd, and glad Jelly on the mend now Lilt. Have just PM'd you about toilet training but please ignore if you've cracked it. Hugs to all that need, and really enjoying the thread despite my erratic appearances SOA!#21 Save £12k in 2025 £16977.35/£20000

Hello.
Just a quick check-in as in the middle of nightshifts. More awake than normal so thought I should say hi.
Two more spend-free days since last posted. So think it is now 13!!!!
:j
We are (well, I am) completely broke. OH has money but doesn't want to spend it on fruit and veg for himself as that is what the food budget is for.
Getting close to cracking point with him and his money thing (he never seems to want to spend his, but mine is a free-for-all). At the point of telling him that he can pay for what he wants and I will pay for what I want.
He likes steaks, beef, pork, fruit, veg, etc... I just eat chicken and mash, chips, etc.
:undecided
Anyways, think it is just the winter thing on the go. You know when you feel a bit bleurgh and sorry for myself.
Hugs to everyone.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Hello sailors!
Quick check in as I am heading out to the cinema for Mocking Jay shortly! Hunger Games will always remind me of NSK! Loved the books so wondering how they will develop some of the characters, which is apparently why the final book was split into 2 films (and I've no doubt money may have had a lil something to do with it).
Payday today- woopeeeee! Am taking popcorn and a bottle of water from home. I may treat myself to a hot drink pre-film as meeting friends beforehand and it is freezing out there and I have run out of time to make a flask up.
Have a good night, all! Pip! Pip! x:coffee:
