Afternoon All!
Busy day at work today so haven't had a chance to catch up on yesterdays posts yet, but I hope you are all doing good
I did something I've never done before last night, I'm going to call it recycled washing. I went through the wash basket and picked out the 5 pairs of jeans that DH seems to think he has dirtied, checked them for stains, folded them and put them back in the cupboard. Bearing in mind he's probably worn them for a couple of hours each it seemed stupid to wash them. Is that taking money saving too far?
Got a little £35 reimbursement from the energy company today, yay!! We've only had the heating on for a few hours so far this winter, I'm not sure how much longer I will be able to get away with it though....
Big CC interest got added today. £192. A part of my soul died. I can't wait until I have cleared the little CC (higher interest rate, should be gone by the 01/12) and I can start making a dent in the big one. I've worked out that this month alone, we will pay £254 in interest and chargesIt's number like that I must remember when I become disheartened.
T minus 24 hours for car repair quote, please all keep your fingers crossed for a good price for me!
Happy Friday! YAY!0 -

Tehe,
I should start doing that, OH has only three wearable pairs of trousers/jeans but only wears them a day. So I'm constantly washing them. I hate his question, have I got any trousers, are they washed. Well if you'd wear them a bit longer ...

Thanks Lovely!
I know, grrrrrrr. The best of it is, I'm pretty sure he won't even realise that they have ended up straight back in the cupboard and haven't had the usual 2 days in the wash/dry cycle.
Or if they ever went near the washing machine they may know if they have trousers.......0 -
thriftylass and coffee and stitches. i do this with OH and especially DD1 who thinks a couple of hours of wear means it needs washing. Only they don't know i do it LOL:cool:
spendy day again. Spent half the day rewriting part of essay as DD1 managed to delete part of it:mad:budgets = food gone:eek:/ petrol almost gone:eek:/nsd:mad:/ Treats: where the money gone? far far away:mad:/exercise not happening/declutter: only my purse:(

Another NSD to claim. Went with dd's class up to the Fire Museum where we saw some super old fire engines, then up the Monument - all 311 steps of it. I am surprisingly worn out, but need to gee myself up to go to my school's prizegiving. Then tomorrow dd has her dance exams - but at least the first one is only at 11.25, so we may get a lie-in!
My personal % challenge is up to 80%, so once that is full, I'll shift the pennies to the Elsa fund pay-off.
Fmess - did you ever sort out the bed?
Love the concept of recycled washing!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I also used to recycle washing! Can't do it so much now I live on my own.
Spent a lot of time the last couple of days thinking how to declutter my tiny flat. Most of the clutter is books, I can't throw books away,it's just wrong.
Any ideas? Am*zon is a possible but with a couple of hundred to shift it might take a long time :-)
Manage to get rid of a few bits of crafting stuff on e-b*y.Maybe leave listing anymore until after Christmas.
Yesterday I had an offer of free afternoon tea and free transport each way.
Very nice indeed. On the way back bought a T.V.guide. 54p but had a 20poff coupon.
Today another NSD

My mantra is After I ....I will. eg After I make my morning coffee, I will take my medication. Eventually this will become a habit,0 -
Morning all
Yesterday was a spend say as predicted. £5 to Children in Need, £9 for meal out, £35ish on food shopping and £15 on petrol, ran round like a mad woman after work to get all the soends in on one day and so today can finally be another SFD
applemuncher I haven't sorted the mattress out yet, I currently have a towel over the protruding springs, which works very well. I'd like to use my tescimo vouchers on the boost scheme to get one but would struggle to have someone here when it's delivered, unless I can specify a deliver date.
Ilovetea I've used Am4zon before and it's fairly quick, especially if you sell them to them as opposed to listing them on their website and waiting for a buyer. You just type in the ISBN, it gives a price and you accept or decline their price. It'll take a while to input all your books but it shouldn't be too bad.
I've been up for an hour, done a few chores and now I'm having a lie down and maybe a snooze, I do love weekends with no plans.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Sorry haven't posted for a couple of days, have been busy with a couple of different things, topped off with an early Xmas dinner / gift exchange for mother in law as she's away at Xmas this year. Had a great evening but still full!
Food budget completely blown already, and no SFD since last post, but everything else still under control for the minute. Car passed MOT, thank goodness, so hopefully will have enough cash to last til end of the month - half way already, can't believe it! Hope you all have a lovely weekend, off to reread posts properly but sad to hear your laptop has finally given up the ghost, Lilt - hope you can still pop in from time to time and hope to see you on a shiny new one soon if your current one is beyond repair (know you were saving for one).#21 Save £12k in 2025 £16977.35/£20000
