NST November: battening down the hatches!

Food shop part done for the week ahead. Spends so far £19.80 with a few things left to get tonight from Mr T.
That said I have £15 to pay to work for Christmas night out (final payment). I really can't be bothered with Christmas nights out but feel I have to go as it will double up as my leaving doo. Oh well. I am also due £4 for works lottery syndicate (how I wish I had never got involved, not won a thing but plenty of cash down the drain).
Money gripes aside, it is a beautiful winters day here so I will be heading out to the garden soon to clear up some leaves.0 -
Evening all
Loving the weekly challenge soa
I am going to promise to not eat at the school canteen for the rest of the year. I reckon I still spend about £5 a week there so that will be about £25 saved.
I forgot to mention that I managed to get my mattress, with delivery for less than £100, after using my tescimos vouchers on their boost scheme
Today was SFD number 7Yay. I love SFDs but seem to be struggling with them this month.
Hope you are all well, mothernerd are you out there? Was it the operation this week?LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hey SOA. Not sure work will lend me the monitor any longer than til I am next in there Weds but it was nice whilst it lasted. I do use the app on my phone, but can't set my categories etc on there, so would be a shot in the dark after payday really. Maybe on balance work would rather lend me an ancient old monitor than have me download YNAb to use on my lunch breaks? :rotfl:
fmess £100 for a mattress is excellent, and from what I remember you were in dire need! Hope you enjoy it once it gets here!
apple marry me! You are truly my soulmate. I too scour the streets for roadkill, wishing to come across a stash of cash. Usually mid daydream I have a moral moment and decide I ought to take it to the police station. But if it looks like a drug dealer left it, then I am keeping it... :rotfl: I am so glad people can't hear my thoughts when I walk along on my own. They would hear an awful lot of repeated song choruses for one thing....
mothernerd thinking of you. Hope you aren't in too much pain xx
I went back through all of my spending, and can officially upgrade my current SFD by 3 days!! I missed a couple of days due to being a bit poorly and not with it when I wasn't sleeping. So after a SFD today I am now on 11 :j I am getting to be a bit of a master at keeping lists of things I need to buy and doing it all at once on one day to save on spend days. I am not sure if that is actually saving me any money or not, but I guess if I had to go out and buy bread or milk I would end up with a lot more than just that in my basket so that is saving.
So. I am not in debt. But I do have a huge want, which is to somehow buy an £800 Macbook and still have most of my emergency fund, and savings pot intact. So I need to make £800 extra by January.... :rotfl: I have £115 cashback coming in before Xmas. NPower owe me a minimum £100 back from my final bill. I have some items to sell when I can figure out the best way. Not had very good experiences with fleabay recently. I can cut back a bit on the Christmas food after costing up the dinner and the things that make Christmas and Boxing Day for me. So I should be able to place another £100 into this fund in November. There is also £135 coming in which would just be added to my emergency fund so if I divert it that should push it up. So there is more than half the money by Dec 25th. My Uncle is giving me some cash for Xmas. Any other cash I get will go into this fund but I doubt there will be much as my family subscribes to spending on kids only which saves me a lot of money so I cannot complain!
Off to figure out how to get some more cash
Night peeps xx

I wish you lived near me. OH does IT for a job and we have all odds and ends in the garage and I'm sure I've seen a monitor in there.
I can't wait for the new mattress, mine is now 9 years old and has done a good job.
I also sing only the choruses to songs. I am awful with music, so if I pick up anything from the radio it is usually only a snippet and I have no idea what the rest is.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Evening all.
Up to NSD 7 now. Went out and spent a bit this weekend but not as much as I normally would so that was good.
Food budget is mostly gone but have some food in the cupboards so should survive the next 2 weeks. I've not been going running like a said I would, the natural laziness took over, so must rectify that next week!
Otherwise not doing too badly. Very low on cash til the end of the month now so no more going out for a while. Hermit-mode starts nowStarting 2016 debt-free
Emergency Fund: £350/£10000 -
Hi everyone, not posted in a few days but am still trying to stay on the right side of the tracks. Have had DD3 friend stay this weekend from when she lived in the South West, he eats like a horse! Some of the food I was expecting to last till month end has gone.
I bought most of the Christmas presents for my grandson in the Debhm sale + a 10% voucher. His main present a musical table is selling at £34 I paid £22.50 so a good price. I am now on 7NSD and my total food/household items /dog is now standing at £361/400. The cupboards, fridge freezer still looking full so just buying fruit, bread, veg and milk.
For my challenge, as I am on a fixed pension income , is to add 10p's to my 5p+1p jar and will pay this off my Tesco card on January 5th.
We are going to a restaurant for Christmas Day lunch this year. My brother and wife are going to be here from the States, and as it is also DD3's birthday on CD we are going to celebrate that foremost. We have never been out on her birthday before and she will be 36 so it's been a long time coming. I've asked for extra in their contributions to pay for it. I have decided to sort out the amounts I owe and put them in my signature and to keep a running total of spends etc. That way I can own the problem but also keep in sight the progress I will be making on all fronts,
Bought some advent calendars for food bank and will be donating other food as well- probably Christmas related.
Will do my signature soon. Hugs, sticks etc to who ever needs them night, night DottyNSD 1/3,

Have made a start on my signature by putting on my budgets, My month works 21st to 20th so will update and post new budget then, and also have a go at listing my debts. All this is so new to me but I hope it won't take long to get into the proper swing of things. DottyNSD 1/3,
