NST November: battening down the hatches!

  • I'm on my 4th consecutive NSD and have £124 to last 13 days til payday. I have enough food in the freezer to last but will have to buy milk bread and fruit. I'm being as frugal as possible as I will clear ALL of my last debt next payday. This will leave me with not much spare cash in December but luckily Christmas is all saved up for. Phew!
  • Afternooon all,

fmess - Sorry to hear about your car troubles. Ours got vandalised at haloween, someone coming this weekend to quote for the damage, I feel your pain. Just glad no one was hurt. It's a total pain but at least it wasn't injured people, only injured paint work (or at least that's what I keep trying to think!)

Dinner was a cheaper that expected affair last night, which left me £10 over, so I went and put it in the bank straight away and split it into pots before I had a chance to spend it!

Also received another payment for a fleabay item so that went into the pots as well.

Does anyone else split and pay tiny amounts when they have them? Today out of the £10, I made a CC payment of £3.34. They must look at my payments and think I'm crazy, the other day I made one for £1.92. It's silly, but once any money is paid / allocated / potted then I won't spend it as I would if it was in my purse. And I like how all the odd little payments slowly start to add up. £23 off the CC this week, and £12 allocated to a pot, and I guarantee if I had kept that cash in my purse it would have been frittered away with nothing to show....

Not much else to report from me, Happy Wednesday All!

    Hi everyone :)

Fmess what rotten luck, but I'm glad OH is ok :)

Well yesterday I did spend :o I needed bin bags, so bought those but also fancied some belgian buns from gr3gs too :o They were lovely though :D

At work yesterday, I went on the jobs website and found 1 I really like the look of and touch in my job anyway, but I need more experience. I know I could do the job, so I'm reading up on it :) The other, would be nice, if I got it,lol. But my gosh, it's all changed this job seeking lark  In the days of old you did your application and posted it off. Now it's all by email and you can't waffle on to sell yourself, oh no, there are actually word limits :o These two will hopefully get me up to speed and give me experience as, I've a feeling i'll be doing this for quite a while.

Of course, it doesn't help that my brain has literally turned to mush and I have now got a head cold :( So do you think I can construct anything worth reading right now anyway, lol :D

Well my ex well and truly got on my nerves yesterday. My little one's bike has arrived and I was pleased with it. The ex decides we should have gone to a bike specialist as toys ru$ are not bike specialists and it's best to go to one and 80 pounds is too cheap and he's not happy with the make  I had to remind him that the little lad will only be riding in the local park-we are not entering him for Tour De France  What is it with men :D

Well today is a NSD and I will get some exercise in. I'm so glad I was working from home today. The office is just such a sad sight. People are still bewildered, my manager, bless her has work her socks off this last year and is still in shock and people don't know where to turn! I've been telling them to fight all the way by looking for something else, but I just don't think they have it in them at the moment-poor things . My daughter bought a tear to my eye, insisting we cancel her party. But I said not a chance. I've saved for it and it's already allocated, so the show ill go on :D
Have a good evening everyone :)

A spendy day, as I did the food shop. £31 in my first visit to liddle and £22 in Sains (canny purchases saving £10.50). No prizes for guessing whoch pile of purchases is the one that'll feed us for the week! How on earth do people afford to do their main shop in Saims?!

Given that I was spending, I've bought my ticket to Cornwall for next Friday, for uncle's thanksgiving service.

And I've got my steps over 16,000. Yippee!

NSD lost to parking today, and unexpectedly too. Went bowling this afternoon (unplanned) and because I knew I was paying for the car park, I also bought myself a Slu$h Pupp!e :rotfl: The artificial lemon & lime flavouring just tasted great :D

On the up side, I didn't have to pay for the bowling and I came second :T

    Evening all

It seems like life has suddenly got a lot calmer again, thank goodness. However, we do not find out any more information about the O report until after school tomorrow, so I'm still feeling a bit tense.

I have only had one SFD so far this week. Monday I bought takeaway for tea as I was working all night, yesterday was the SFD but today I realised we were out of milk and bread for OH so I had to lose my SFD :( Tomorrow I have a planned spend, although my budget is now empty, and Friday I have one of my planned outings, to the pub for dinner.

No exercise achieved and I have probably put back on the 2lbs I lost last week. Hoping to reign things in again from tomorrow.

I have already started planning my declutter plans for the weekend, this week I will target the office/box room.

Hope you've all had good days

I do our shopping in sainsburys. But basic brand only. I can just about manage to stick to £40 a week to feed 3 of us, & a cat. But I shop with a list, meal plan & buy very little meat.
