    Good luck with that.
    Don’t be a can’t, be a can.

on the grounds that the depollution system is faulty, making the car unroadworthy.

i'm then legally entitled to reject the vehicle and ask for a refund.

i'd rather he just refunds it, but if i have to take it to court i will

    And you know that how?

know what that the system is faulty? or the grounds that i'm entitled to reject the car?

A 7 year old French car is asking for trouble.
There is a very good reason they are so cheap to buy second hand.

Farting in the car can put the EML light on.
I do Contracts, all day every day.

What the fault is, twenty minutes ago it was an undiagnosed light. Now you're set to tell the dealer what's wrong with the car cause you read it online and now want a full refund

Can we come and watch this?

regardless of your opinion on the mechanical merits of a car brand... the car clearly has a fault, one that developed within hours of driving off the forecourt, and yes i'm sure they'll bend over backwards to fix it... but my faith in this company after doing a full 'service' on the car before i picked it up has gone well and truly down the swanny...

thankfully.. i've also been in touch with some other people who have provided me with the necessary documents to provide tomorrow.

i never said it was undiagnosed, it's a fault with the depollution system, it's been verified by a code reader..

i simply said engine management fault.. not unspecified engine management fault.

had it simply been a DPF (diesel particulate filter) problem i'd have burned it off on a motorway run... but the depollution system, is stating it's a misfire on a cylinder which can mean a multitude of things.

If there's more to it then why not share?

You asked for advice but are holding something back, what documentation, a rejection letter?
  • Although I do agree about French cars and avoiding at all costs, I think having a sleepless night because an engine light come on in your new car is slightly ridiculous

Take the car back, request the dealer fixes it which I'm sure hel be happy to, and try to enjoy your new car.

rejection letter, the appropriate parts of the sales of goods act for my case, the dealers trade associations rules regarding such matters, and now i'm printing off the faults from the ECU... which they can then reverify with a code reader on site.
