Yes, Ill join in - will do baby's room. :T0 -
Hi all, just stopped for a 10 min break. Had a productive morning - old wardrobe dismantled and taken to the tip, tsco order arrived and has been stashed, dishwasher load, kitchen bin and compost bin emptied. Our bed made, lunch made and cleared away. Pizza dough in bread maker. Kids are now 'doing rough play' on the sofa :undecided: :hmm: - will end in tears!
Feel a bit overwhelmed with everything still to do this afternoon
Sympathy / empathy / hugs for those who need them - especially those with medical stuff going on and katiecat. Stay strong.
I have a question about daily lists - would anyone be willing to share theirs?
I feel like I have SO MUCH to do each day, I can barely stay on top of daily stuff, let alone deeper cleaning / decluttering. The house feels grimy at the moment, and I'm struggling to feel in control of everything! I've been thinking about getting a steam cleaner, but I don't know if it would actually speed up my cleaning routines or help at all. I saw a few poeple mentioned having / getting one - I'd love to know your views on it.
Right - back to work!
Daily I do dishwasher/washing up, wipe kitchen tops properly as cat sleeps on them grr. Load of washing, make beds and clean toilets and sink. Everything else daily is related to kids and meal prep and clearing really.Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -
Kitchen looking better on the outside, inside of cupboards need doing but slowly over time I think.
Time for another cuppa and 3 bits to iron. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Piggers will you PLEASE be carefull, bashing thumb nails is not being careful.!!
sushistar, my daily list is stuff like, cat feed, lunches made, stuff out of freezer to defrost for that nights dinner, sort clothes / rubbish/ bills, tidy round and such like. BUT my biggest tip of all, is to declutter first, when I first joined this thread some years ago, I did not do any lists for about 4 weeks or so, I threw out rubbish / stuff to charity shop / ebay / car boot and got rid of stuff, as I found I was just moving stuff from a to b and back again.
This way would not suit everyone, but it worked for me.
I also have a rule one thing into the house, 2 things out!!
My ebaying of stuff, has paid my flight tickets for the last 4 years, but this year I am finally running out of stuff, and have had to use saving to make up my ticket price.
Katie, I echo Valli's words, be very carefully hubby may now be saying I agree with x, y,z, but in 2 weeks time he could say we never agreed, I want this that and the other, please get legal advise.
Sc\ is on.

Ouch, piggers!
Rang my friend this morning and she said she was coming home today. I hope to go and see her for a few minutes this evening.
Sushistar, my dailies are:
Bedroom - open curtains; turn back and tidy bed; open window (not far on days like this!); pick up DH's gubbins from floor; check laundry bin for a full load
Bathroom - last one in the shower squirts the daily shower spray; wipe mirror if necessary; S&S basin and toilet, bleach in toilet if necessary; hang towels so that they dry quickly.
Kitchen - put away all food; empty DW and/or draining board; washing up / DW; S&S work surfaces, sink and hob; clear mats, post etc off table into a basket on the shelf; push the chairs under the table; get out anything from the freezer that's needed for the evening meal to defrost
LR - open curtains; put away knitting if left out the night before; pile up magazines; plump up the sofa cushions
Utility - WMx??? if necessary
It takes me about 10 minutes to do all that. If you can tidy away as you go (follow Valli's mantra "Don't put it down, put it away!") and keep your LR looking reasonable (i.e. with space to sit down), you can shut the door on the rest until it comes round on the weekly thread0 -
Bathroom list started.
Dailies done
Towels washed.
Went and had hair cut then DD came for lunch. Been to SW and decluttered a pound and a half. Went to friends for a cuppa. I'm not keen on the dark nights just want to hibernate.0 -
Bathroom Done!
After vacuuming the hall, I realised that the living room was currently a packing station, covered in parcels and packages, so postponed till tomorrow and did the bathroom instead.
I have also ticked off a few little jobs, such as email that was fairly important, and also paid some bills, as well as going to an appointment.
After, it was rainy - and dark! Home for tea and read, then made lasagne for dinner.
Katiecat Can I echo the advice of others, and recommend seeking legal advice. Ask friends for suggestions, or check out who offers advice and for how much, some offer fixed price first consultation. If this is not time limited, then even if more expensive probably worth it. Make sure you have an account of your own, just in case. Also, locate paperwork - eg marriage certificate, details of financial accounts. And hugs, because you'll need them.It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Not sure I've achieved much today, paid or otherwise. Feeling a bit cross with myself. Not sure if it's hormones but I've over-eaten too and feel uncomfortable
I did finish mopping and got the laundry sorted, made dinner which was yum and tidied up after.
Bit sad at having missed DD swimming - she did brilliantly. Just wish I'd seen it. She's very grown up all of a sudden.
Tomorrow morning, if it stays dry, I may collect some leaves up. They are all gathered round the playhouse, if they get wet it might make the house damp. Sure the kiddies will help me.
We are going to my aunts in the afternoon. Family get together.
Hope your afternoon hasn't been too horrible, LW
And "ouch" pigpenBossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Evening flyladies. Hugs where needed. Hope everything went ok LW.
I did everything I planned this morning and also managed to hoover downstairs and change our bedding.
My dailies are S&S toilets, always make the bed, hoover at least downstairs as OldDog moults continually, wipe kitchen sides and keep up to date with washing up and washing clothes. AND at least two dog walks - helps keep me sane and in touch with the world outside.
Tonight, I made a lovely dinner, even if I do say so myself, washed up, went with DD to H@lfords to get new car bulbs and DD and I have carved a pumpkin ready for Friday. Looks great.
Right - time to read the paper now.Spend less now, work less later.0
