How to report a member on ebay?

I've had an offer to sell before end of auction and want to report it but I'm just going round in circles ad nauseum on ebay trying to find how to do it

Hardly the offence of the century. Why bother? Just tell him you want to let the auction run. End of problem.

    Are you sure about that?

I don't know the ins and outs of all eBay rules but where does it say that a user cannot make an offer to a seller?

Was this user asking you to deal off eBay? That is against the rules.

Selling off ebay is against the rules - making an offer isn't!
Have to be honest and say I think you are being a little prim.

Yes that's why I want to report it! "We don't allow our members to use eBay to contact each other to make offers to buy or sell items outside of eBay." See http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/rfe-spam-non-ebay-sale.html

i think you have too much time on your hands, i dont think reporting 1 member is going to make an ounce of difference to ebay.

well if you follow that link I provided you'll see that you are wrong there re making an offer. I'm happy to leave it to ebay to decide if I'm prim or not if I can ever find a way of contacting them.

Why on earth would a buyer prefer to complete a deal outside eBay? Selling outside eBay only benefits sellers as they save on fees and it reduces the buyers protection.

Making an offer is not agaisnt ebay rules as the seller can easily set up a buy it now for the buyer to purchase at the agreed price.
Making an offer to buy outside of ebay is against the rules.
Theres nothing wrong with contacting a seller to see if you can mutually agree a price before putting up a buy it now.

That link you provided is about offers to buy outside of ebay not about just trying to make an offer theres a difference.
