:D:rotfl:Just admit it....You have run out of any decent comebacks and your idea is stupid and unnecessary.
Here is something you can use...........a%3E

No, I will keep a reminder on my windscreen. For my purposes it is a very useful tool and I will keep doing it.

My replies are slowing down because I have run out of patience with (insert personal insult)'s like you.

Wig's idea is a very sensible one.

I don't drive, so without a tax disc, or a tax disc holder, or a car to put one on, I miss all kinds of appointments - doctor, dentist, house insurance renew dates, and I always seem to turn up to weddings the week after.

If some bright spark was to invent some kind of list of all the days in a year, so us non-drivers could write down when we had to do things, I think that's an idea that could really take off.

Never thought of that, it could be called a diary or calendar or maybe even a computer.

    Duly inserted and thank you.
All the suggestions you've had have been useful. Hope you find a way to make it as aesthetically appealing as you wish.

As to displaying something as a reminder, why not stick a photocopy of the receipt in the window?

Not only would it act as a reminder to the owner/keeper, it'd be a notification to police officers, traffic wardens etc., in the event the computer system had the vehicle down as unlicensed.
...and it would be a dead giveaway to any casually passing officer if you did forget to renew, and would remind them to check the computer system, making it a Very Bad Idea.

But, to be honest, how often did the date on your tax disk really act as a reminder anyway? I remember looking at mine on more than one occasion in the past and thought, 'Christ, it's out of date, I'd better renew it before anyone notices'.

Let's face it, you're inside the car, the tax disk is outside - and on the passenger side to boot. If you really did want to stick a reminder in your car, that's almost completely the place where you are least likely to notice it, bettered only by the underside of the exhaust pipe.

Better to worry about the MOT - unlike road tax there is no automatic free (and IME totally reliable) reminder for that although you can pay to get one.

Perhaps people with classic cars would like these.
