hi
the only way i clean them is to dismantle them from the dishwasher and holding them upside down put them under very hot water swishing from side to side giving them a slight!! bang if anything is stuck. if the banging doesn't work i find a cocktail stick usually does the trick.
and no i've never found a way to open them either
hope this helps- jan GC £200

I soak them in vinegar & bicarb.
A friend of mine puts fabric softener in some water to soak them (?) she reckons it works but I've never tried it (don't have fabric softener).
Someone mentioned using cocktail sticks - better with a pin or needle, or piece of wire - not as likely to break off and plug up the hole0 -
I put the arm under a running tap and the pressure of the water going into the unblocked holes usually forces the rubbish out through the blocked ones.
If they are really blocked then I pour dry bicarb over the blocked holes, then pour vinegar over (all in an empty bowl of course!), so that the bicarb/vinegar 'explosion' gets to work right on the spot it is needed...0 -
Thanks for the answers!! Having been trying to needle the muck out but it keeps disappearing back in!, will give the vinegar and bicarb a go!!0
