  • "In fact I have just renewed with them for unlimited broadband only for £8.50 a month which I believe is good."
If you belive £8.50/month is good for unlimited broadband from PN then I'm sorry to say you've been conned.
I'm on a Market 1 (A)exchange and pay £5.99/month for their unlimited broadband and will be haggling for cheaper in a month's time when my 12 months' agreed minimum and LRS expires.
I too am ex MAAF prior to PN takeover.

thanks for letting me know as naively I thought £8.50 was good!!
I shall now tried and contact them.. what is Market 1 exchange?

It probably is for BB only with a company. The other poster was referring to BB with LR where you can get better deals.

Market 1 exchange is where there are no LLU providers - ie all providers use the BT backbone.
  • Thanks for your response... yes I am BB only but I have phoned them and queried if they could go lower and they did. i'm on a longer contract but as I have been with them so long and happy, I agreed so now my monthly fee is £5.50 which is pretty good for unlimited BB. :j

I used to deal with Plusnet years ago, they did not offer me the best deal ever when I moved, also stung me in the tail with a charge when I left.

Still I am considering this 18m offer

It is wrong to charge people when they leave, right now they are asking me for £49 install and you can bet they charged the previous person for the very same service.
Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !

Been with P/N for about 8 years now and have no reason to leave or complain.

If you migrate from one BT Openreach supplier to another then there will be no leaving charge assuming you are out of the minimum term.

If you leave to the likes of Virgin then there will be as it's totally separate lines.

Virgin via cable may be and you pay virgin for that

My point is that BT will replace you on a virtual circuit with the next customer and they charge them, so why should I be charged as well. Takes seconds to do the work anyway,

BY should not be able to PUNISH you for leaving their network, is anti competitive

You've still not explained why you would have been charged for leaving. Properly done migrations from one network to another are not chargeable.
