Hi Serena - I was thinking about you yesterday, trying to remember your rules for decluttering.

Much progress here in terms of sorting through and removing things. I think the mess will get worse before it gets better but I am chipping away at it and even the boys are helping. DS2 hates getting rid of anything but we have agreed he can change to the bigger bedroom if he declutters. Today has been upstairs hall 2 and both boys bedrooms. OH has cleared the study drawers of paperwork that is no longer required, applied some filler to the walls and removed a damaged door. It's an original one so we need to recycle the oak somewhere, perhaps into a bookcase. Removing it for building regs compliance so it has to go sadly, but it does mean space for another bookcase.

Gov meeting decluttered and home in time to snuggle DS3 into bed.

My mum has had another major health scare this weekend so I am going to need to make lots of time for her in the next couple of weeks.

I'll do tomorrow's list then that is it for today, early bed I think, hope DH is home soon, he is working far too many hours atm.

Spatone is just 5mg iron so won't do much if somebody has low iron levels. Hemaplex is much better at 85mg along with a load of B vits etc. Floradix can make your teeth turn black and tastes vile. Too much iron can lead to iron toxicity so care needs to be taken with supplementing.

  • I'm afraid I had a rubbish start to my first flying week! I managed the extras and the 15 minutes tidying around downstairs and that's all. I haven't even managed to vacuum or get the WM on at all today. The LO has got her first cold so it was a rough night followed by a tough day :(

I have to do the ironing tonight before bed otherwise the baby will have no bibs tomorrow! :p

 I can't think why it would make your teeth turn black.. I took it a few years ago for a week or two and seem to remember it tasting like blackcurrant or like Benylin possibly.

It is quite expensive, though, so possibly not very MSE. There's also things like Metatone, which is cheaper, but I haven't tried it.

I am adapting the lists slightly as I want to focus on decluttering and DIY rather than cleaning so only doing essential cleaning!
The weekend was manic... Re painted the living room and tried to do a bit more to the bedrooms. But everything I start seems to make more mess somewhere else. Generally I can see progress though!
Tonight I put all the pictures back on the walls in living room and did a quick once over when kiddies had gone to bed (so much better now it has been decluttered!), did a quick once over in ds1's bedroom. Also did dw x 1 and an hour of ironing. Washed up before I came to bed as well. Mum came over while I was at work and did some tidying in the garden! It looks so much better bit can't take credit for that!

Monday - Little bit of everything to start the week

Frodders, I hope you had fabulous weather for your poppy day. There were some photographs last week of the Queen and Prince Philip walking among them which were stunning. You earned your walk. OH has chosen a couple of weekends when his team are playing at home that we're considering going to London, one before 11 November and one after. Apparently they're going to begin 'picking' them on 12 November. Some art installations really capture the public imagination and this one has certainly grabbed mine. It's lovely to 'know' someone involved.

The weather stayed dry, thank you, and I had a great time. I really recommend going to see it if at all possible - pictures look amazing but the real thing is even better! I'm trying to post a photo on here from FB but I can't make it small enough for the thread - can anyone help? Ta
