    More :coffee: made and drunk.
    Kitchen floor steam mopped.
    WMx2
8 web pages tweaked - about 15 more to go

Was hanging out washing when it began to rain again, so it's gone in the TD. Bad for my electricity bill but good for my sanity.

DH rang nearly an hour ago to say that he'd be home from the canal walk in about 45 minutes. I have decided that we're having tuna, pasta and salad (filling brain food) for lunch. I suspect that he's already had a ham cob in the pub at the halfway point.
  • Welcome to the new fly-ladies and the returners. I returned about 4 threads ago after 2 years of not flying (my youngest has just turned 2, so I suppose that explains it :rotfl:) and the house is already SO much better! The swish and swipes of kitchen and bathroom are kind of key to it I think - I tend to do the bathroom a couple of times a week while the kids are in the bath and by kind of keeping on top of tidying up I can actually do things like hoover and dust!

Had a bout of poorliness yesterday afternoon and spent much of the evening in bed puking :( feeling weak and listless today, but managed to have a trip to the cafe for a croissant with smallest person and paid the milk money at school. Then had a potter down to the allotment this morning to dig up some of the last spuds and put in some onions, so I can't be that bad! I much prefer days at home pottering around with the fat little chicken to going to playgroup which I find much more exhausting. She's spent the last hour chasing the mogs and painting while I've been catching up with some admin.:D

I have several rooms of doom :rotfl:..... its hard to prioritise! I'm going to make an attempt on the utility room as I had planned to do it yesterday before the dreaded norovirus (probably) struck :o

Ionafan and Honeybear calming vibes for you both, some times it's good to release some steam.

A friend should have been here 30 minutes ago so I need to text and see if sheis till coming if not I have plenty to do still.

  • Quick update!

The plumber has been and all jobs done really well - I now have a stopcock that should - stop that is!!! A new kitchen tap - no more Chinese torture with the drip drip and an almost gleaming shower with doors that close - not hanging on by one holder thingy, a new shower head and hose and the replaced sealant is amazing!! I am not to clean it for two weeks as the sealant will harden more - well that's my excuse.
Whilst he was here I did 4 hours of tidying so lots of rooms of doom are improved and I have even done some paperwork!!

The washer is on its first load and I am off to get fruit veg and milk - before it tipples down again.

I felt like getting him to come round again tomorrow just so I could keep up the momentum but thought that would be rather expensive and wastefull!!

Welcome all our new Flyers.:hello: Good to see new friends joining, and old friends returning.:o

    Challenge update:

Lame Wolf - Support Mr LW through the tests he has to have at the horse-piddle (9th - doneand 28th October) and help get him back to being healthy / Revamp my personal Flying list to be realistically do-able - done :T / Finish knitted waistcoat / Make progress with total revamp of front garden borders
    • Mr LW is now up to 45 minutes at a time on the WiiFit, (this comes under the bit about helping him get back to being healthy.
    • New Flying lists working well - I actually completed last weeks!!:T
    • A bit more of the 2nd arm band knitted; I have 10 rows of this remaining, plus the front band (which will be 432 rows based on the number of rows on the arm bands) then put it all together and sew on the buttons.
    • Second of the four sides of the front border has now been cleared. We took Jack outside with us (with his flexi-lead attached to my belt, same as I do for walkies) and worked til the wheelie-bin was full.;)
Has anyone ever heard of abdominal aortic aneurysm screening? Mr LW got a letter from the NHS inviting him for this, the appointment being on 7th November. He can't make that date, and has called them and changed it to 18th Nov (he's on leave that day as we're attending the opera in the evening and need to be there early to get a disabled parking space) - he's decided to take up the offer, as his Dad had heart problems - but neither of us had ever heard of this before!

All the jobs that require us both done this week, bar testing the smoke alarm - I'll get Mr LW to poke the button when I take Jack for a garden wee-break this evening.;) Whole bungalow has also been Dys0ned; Jack is one of the few dogs I've ever known who is totally unfazed by a vacuum cleaner. Kitchen surfaces, cupboard doors, kick-boards etc. all done with anti-bacterial stuff. Pretty much on track thus far this week; this may go a tad awry come Wednesday, when I have to go for my ultrasound tests.

I also did a WM load of my stuff this morning - a couple of tops and a load of "smalls". I was down to one decent bra left clean, so I thought I'd better get it done.:D Also hand-washed a top that can't go in the WM.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Friend came, so sat down and had a cuppa, going to mop the floors now and get the washing in as it has gone dark.

FGB tonight and so not in the mood.

JTTOU glad you have seen progress today, a good feeling.

LW... bit of light reading for you.. http://www.patient.co.uk/health/abdominal-aortic-aneurysm

It is best to get it checked.. it can rupture and cause deaths so it is best to make sure he is fine .. nothing to worry about at all it is just to find the 4% of men affected (1% of women) before they are unwell.. and it doesn't always need surgery if they do have one... I believe it is usually just an ultrasound so nothing invasive and he can eat/drink normally probably but your letter will give more details.

LW my husband had that done earlier this year just before he turned 65. He said it was a bit uncomfortable because they press quite hard with the scanner but not painful. Didn't take long and they told him straightaway that he was fine and should never need to go back again. Apparently it's either that, or a low risk which may need rescanning in the future or a high risk which means an operation. Whichever, at least you find out quickly and then you can either sort it out or forget about it.
