  • Well said HoneyB. My rescue is nervous around other dogs. He is not aggressive, he is not a "bad" dog - he had a tough start in life and doesnt like other dogs tearing up to him and shoving their faces in his.

To make it worse - after one really bad incident with a loose dog my son is scared of dogs charging up to us too.

    Sigh.

Well, I have sat down. Big mistake. Lots still to do and I have a pan of stewed apples on the stove that needs to be made into something. They were freebies so I am grateful but I am tired now and cant be bothered. Still got paid stuff to do and lots of washing to sort. Never mind its the weekend tomorrow and I will have time to catch up.

I have taken the blown oven bulb out and am carefully plotting a route to take in the oven bulb shop and the tip. I won't tag it on to my town errand as I would be down the tip with close to £2K in cash in the car which is probably not wise.

Gosh, that's an expensive oven bulb, Valli! :rotfl:

 to Skinty. Yippeee for :j free wood:j If you google images for "Marigold bouillon powder" you will see what it looks like - I see they do a vegan version too.

Doggy lodger vibes for you, LW.
Well done with the ironing, lynnejk :T
Wish we had smellyposts so that I could enjoy the pickling smells from your house, HB

Where has today gone? I put in WMx1 straight after breakfast and went out shopping for food, came home, got lunch, went to visit my friend (who has been moved to a hospital almost twice as far away from home as the previous one - you may recall that her son has great difficulty going out and meeting people, and he doesn't drive, so I am  on his behalf), came home, got tea, and now DH has gone out wargaming for the evening.

We had a nice lazy day out yesterday, with a lovely drive over the hills and a nice lunch, so I must take advantage of the promised sunny spells tomorrow and finally get my bulbs planted. I shall check what I've got this evening and plan what to put where, in tubs or borders. I also have a couple of phonecalls to make.

I don't feel that I have achieved much this week, but I suppose I have managed to cross just a few things off my lists :o The good thing about Flylady is that there's always another week to do it all in :D

I forgot to mention I came home from play group with 2 bin bags full of toys and baby mats to wash! More fool me for offering to do it because one of the (huge) mats had a smear of gloss paint from where they had been painting in the church hall. So out came the white spirits and I managed to get most of it out. It's now been in the wash 3 times to get the smell of white spirits out! And ive got nappies galore backing up waiting to be washed ....

Lots done, hoovered downstairs and stairs, mopped, done QHI, just putting the smalls to bed and time to make dinner - squash and spinach risotto before collapsing with knitting.

Tackled some more mould. It is really getting to me. I have bought loads of products but it is still a problem. I got on well for a while with some from LLnd but that didn't work this time. The mould is on emulsion paint and pvu windows and silicone seals.
I know people who don't clean at all and they don't have this misery.

    House henried
Ds1's bed changed again as Miss Muddy Paws is moulting a lot.

All packed and ready for last uni open day. We are heading near to CY I think.

Half term here from today. My aim is to blitz the boys' room and sell some stuff on fb & eb.

Miss Muddy Paws has been exploring the builders' skip. I hope it is collected soon.

  • Back from R&R to report a bit more flying.....the curse of the EXMiL strikes again.....I started looking at all the cupboard doors downstairs that were not shutting properly.......because tea towels were not folded Anthea style they didnt fit in the box and therefore under the shelf and then the door wouldn't go completely flush (out by half a cm, but enough to annoy me!) Now all neatly folded.....the box has now been "Nanny and DD4 proofed" with two elastic strings across the top of the box, so it is virtually impossible for either one to yank out the whole box in temper, so you have to gently and sedately remove one at a time.

I have found a new place for all my pegs that I had on my busted washing line........one of my large boxes encased in a zip up laundry bag, to give me a fighting chance of preventing DD4 from tipping them all over the floor.

I have also made an emergency floor towel box for kitchen and downstairs loo in the event of burst pipes, overflowing sinks etc, I have also re-organized my various bin liners and stuff, and made a separate smaller box for my hot water bottles, which we will be using very soon.......giving me enough space for a "Gibble Box"

The Gibble Box will be hidden inside this same cabinet, and then at a moments notice, I can de-gibble the worksurfaces, sling it into the cupboard a quick S&S and no one will suspect 5 minutes before it was a Pit (apologies, I think this should go on the Sloblady thread!)

I am seriously thinking about hiding a "Gibble Box" in every room, but I need to get the existing gibble piles gone before I start on that theory.

I have also put spare toothpaste and brushes in downstairs loo....the trade off is DS and DD4 need to get their toothbrushes and paste at the ready before they come asking for sweets and only when they do can they have a sweet and they must brush straight after......so far so good.

I managed to get half a box of DD1's gibble sorted from the Puter room, while listening to music so not all lost. I should really do some more, but I think I will quit while I am behind .....nighty night.....flyladies and gents
The cold never bothered me anyway
