I spent the morning at my parents. I dropped DD1 at work then went straight there. A bit of a surprise for them when I randomly turned up at 8am :p
My mum helped me sort out my knitting and feed me breakfast :)
    I haven't done much since I got home :o
By some miracle DD2 managed to get her father to pay some of the "csa" he owes us  :j :T So he dropped that round, first time he's spoken to her in 6 months!!
I have always tried not to bad mouth my girls fathers to them but I don't need to they prove what they're like by their actions, or lack of actions in our case
He happily told me that he's going away for his birthday (January), he's going on a cruise to the Caribbean with his mate! He can do that but can't pay us the money he owes!

I got a message from Mr On & Off Again, seems he's going to be in my area next week and "MAY" see me  I'm such a fool :(
Anyway now I have the weekend to get my house clean & tidy so I can say "excuse the mess" ;)

    Rant Alert

WHY is it impossible for dog owners to understand the words, 'Please could you keep your dog away from mine. She's very frightened of other dogs.' What is so difficult about that? Is it clear, does it sound polite enough, or does that sound like a foreign language to anyone?

She's wearing yellow ribbons, she's in season, she's arthritic, she's been harassed by out of control dogs, she's very elderly and she's made it very clear she's terrified of all other dogs.

What is it about their wretched dogs that gives them the right to shove their noses up under her tail and chase her?

I have yet to meet a single bl00dy dog owner whose dog is off the lead on Plymouth Hoe who has the intellectual capacity to understand that when I ask them to keep their dog away from mine, it's for a good reason, and they then do so. To a man, and it is almost always men, they say 'Don't worry, he/she won't hurt her' or 'It's okay, he/she is only a puppy.' I don't care what you think about your dog - I didn't ask you whether your dog was okay with other dogs, I didn't ask how old it was and none of that is of any interest to me or my dog.

And not one, not one of these bl00dy dogs EVER comes to call. Not one.

    What is WRONG with people?

    \rant over.

    Sorry.
HB I'm cross on your behalf. I'd never dream of letting a dog in my care harass another dog; and indeed, I've had guests who don't get along with, or are scared of other dogs, so I feel your, and Mrs Dog's, pain.

Another thing that really bugs me - why do they even bother to scoop the poop if they're then going to dump the plastic bag of poop in the middle of the pavement for the local magpies to tear apart and scatter the contents everywhere? There are loads of poo-bins locally for just that purpose - three on H******* Drive alone, (the road our close leads out onto). Is it so beyond the wit of man to carry the bag til they get to one???

    And breathe......

Flying-wise - I'm afraid I've nowhere near finished the list this week, so I shall scrap what's left and we'll start again fresh tomorrow with the tasks I need assistance with. Mr LW is also going to move the big chair and the sofa so that I can vacuum the Jack-hairs from behind them (little chap loved sitting there; it seems a popular cubby-hole with a lot of the dogs).

Jack has, of course, now been decluttered back to his own humans.:( I have no more booking at present , but hopefully there'll be some before too long.

Not sure how Flying will go next week; Mr LW has his mega-unpleasant test at the horse-piddle on Tuesday; I have the nerve conduction or whatever it's called test Wednesday; and Friday is Samhain.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Dog-lodger vibes heading your way, LW. Mrs Dog says 'Licks' to you.

We have two trays of pear slices dehydrating in the oven, 10 more jars of pear chutters and a house full of boiled vinegar vapours. OH is wandering around pretending the vapours only affect *him*. Me standing over the pan and stirring for about three hours with streaming eyes (not counting chopping a kilo of very juicy onions) elicits no sympathy at all. I have washed some of the kitchen floor - nothing that involves moving things, but the bits that show have had a lick and polish (yuk).

I've also realised I can strip the superking today and turn that room around and wash that bedding with the last half of the darks mountain ready for J arriving either on Saturday evening or Sunday morning. He's a favourite who stays twice a year and has done so for about 10 years, so I always feel a bit guilty charging him unlike some of the others.
    Better is good enough.

In the country park by me there are umpteen dog poo bins - yet some owners still carefully bag it, tie the bag up then fling it into the trees and bushes where it hangs...if they left it on the ground it would, at least, eventually biodegrade of its own accord.

Been to town. As I approached my car I saw that someone had carefully placed a plastic cup of rubbish - crisps and sunflower seed husks (?) under my car wheel - there was a bin no more than 10 m away:mad:. I put it in the bin.

PTA money banked. Been and had a little mooch and bought a Baby's First Christmas bauble from M&S for my Great-Nephew. Doesn't seem 5 minutes since I bought his Mum one.

My first week of flyladying and the flat's looking better than it was!

Today I hoovered through the hall, bathroom and bedroom, changed the bedding and wiped the window sill. It's a pain trying to dry stuff in this weather. Our tumble drier has broken down and we haven't got a garden. I'm going to have to try and get the dryer fixed, I think.

Discovered a leaky pipe under the kitchen sink, so that needs to be looked at too.

I'm off to watch Pointless soon. Thankyou for the lists this week :)

People are very strange about litter. I pick up glass bottles if I find them on our walks simply because in the past when I didn't, the next time I walked over the same route the glass had been broken. even when the street sweepers sorted it out tiny shards were always left which could get into dog's paws. What's so odd about bottles is that if they're screw top, the screw tops are always placed back on the empty bottle before they're left lying about - often within yards of a bin.

And the throwing of the dog pooh bags is just wierd, but I know it happens a lot. Surely the worst part is picking the pooh up, not chucking the bag in the bin.

So unload the wood and stack somewhere dry-ish
Get the worst of the muck out of boot
Find a tarpulin and lay it out in the boot ready to harvest all the fallen wood from these lovely winds that have been blowing

[STRIKE]Finish organising my long term storage for the @pproved food stuff.....I cannot use the wardrobe in the Puter room as a hidey hole anymore[/STRIKE] now in handled trugs on top of kitchen cupboards (mostly hidden by the coving......SHHHH! don't tell anyone!)

Finish putting away the lovely clean baskets of washing in DS, DD4 and my room.

Finish sorting the "Gibble" boxes that I have been collecting in each room - [STRIKE]kitchen [/STRIKE], Puter room, LR, Dining Room, My BedRoom, DS BR, DD3 BR, DD4 BR

[STRIKE]Get DD4 broken cot out of my hallway and in the car[/STRIKE] and off to the tip (see wood removal first!) Dump closed so will have to nip out in the morning!

[STRIKE]Get bread soaking for bread pudding before NDN chickens have to have the bread instead of us[/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]Get DW unloaded from Wednesday night.....I am ashamed to say I WU by hand as I couldn't unloading it myself......then get the loosely rinsed plates in the DW and get the counters cleaned ( I did one yesterday)[/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]Get cardboard divider inserts from @pproved foods flattened and hidden away ready to make drawer dividers for DS toys to avoid him yanking everything out to find one piddley little plastic figure)[/STRIKE]

Put the recycling envelopes and paper into one big bag ready to make spills later (currently been flung inside the fireguard for last 4 days as stopped using fire when EXMiL was here)

Get the partially sorted junk off my bed sorted and put away.

[STRIKE]Wrestle with DD3's duvet cover and get it slung in WM with stuff already pre-treated before school run.[/STRIKE]

Get back on to energy supplier to get gas on fixed rate tariff asap.

While Puter is on, get receipts added onto money program before 2 receipts breeds into 200!

Finish hoovering the upstairs....DD4's room is half done.

[STRIKE]Right, going to start with making a brew and get that bread soaking.[/STRIKE]

BTW .........looking at last weeks thread, where do you get marigold powder or how do you make your own? - Thanks for the info Valli I will keep my eye out for that next time I pop in!

Back in from school run and park.......young Skints fed....time for a brew and a bit of R&R before I start again on the half done jobs

Glad to be back on the flying wagon again :)

Arrgh I should really be adding finish throwing and filing paperwork stuff, that is a 3/4 finished job but will take much longer than all the other jobs so, might hang on and do that last!
The cold never bothered me anyway

And that's not difficult - open bag. Put hand in bag. Using bag as a "glove", pick up poo. Take bag off hand, turning it inside out at the same time, thus containing poo - hands never come into direct contact with poo. Tie handles. Bin. Simples!!:D If I can do it, and I use a mobility scooter so have to either move the scooter within reach of the poo, or stand using a stick for balance, I'm darned sure anyone can do it.;)
As for people who hang the bag in a tree, or lob it as far as they can.... I'd cheerfully rub their nose in it!

    Dailies done
    Kitchen done.
    Bedding changed and washed.

Went up the street then down to the park for a walk.

Valli That made me laugh. I'm sure he would if he could.
