Morning all. I'm back home. I haven't caught up with the thread so hope that everyone is ok.
Well, NO washing up has been done while I've been away, so that's my first task this morning. If anyone watch compulsive obsessive cleaners the other night, my kitchen looks like the one not occupied by an OCD cleaner. Eeek!
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning everyone - sorry I didn't catch up later yesterday - did 4 hrs at vol job and promptly "did a Dusty" - that is fall asleep as soon as I sat down - and it was only 2pm!!!! No seriously Dusty - that is just your body's way of coping with all you have going on - think of it as a restorative nap and please don't beat yourself up about it - just hope you don't sleep for so long it stops you trying to sleep at night?
Busy day today as Dsis' birthday and she's coming for lunch - aaagh!! DH has moved my remaining box of paper to sort into laundry room and I am now trying to make a sc meal for dinner and two types of veg soup whilst at the same time dusting all through and cleaning the bathroom!!!!! Should not have slept yesterday!!
No chance of making it before 12 have I !!!
Welcome to Sushistar.
Have a great day everyone.xJuly 16 £95/£200

Hi there Sushistar!
The forecast is hinting at an improvement, which might mean I can get the last load that been lurking by the WM for three weeks! I hate washing stacking up and the place looking like a Chinese laundry.
Lodger of three months leaves on Sunday and although she's very nice, I can't wait. I think we've had too many people to stay for too long over the past year or 18 months. We've got a four week period coming up when we're full to the gunnels, but apart from that I think we'll enjoy feeling the place is actually 'ours' again. It's hard to be selective when all the enquiries are from people we've never met but I think we'll have to cut down for a bit.Better is good enough.0 -

You spoil that cat Boddy;)
Am up, showered and dressed.
Benny Bunny is in his run with some more bean leaves - very frugal, feeding him the unwanted bean plants rather than just composting them:money:
The Vallicats have been fed.
I am off to town later to deposit the takings from the pta summer fair which have been languishing in the school safe for months because the bank won't take cash deposits on a Saturday and I can only deposit in one bank.
I shall also deposit my birthday cheque and another personal cheque and run a couple of errands.
I plan to construct my Half Term Toots list presently...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Hi all, and thanks for all the welcomes. I am so motivated looking at all your lists!
DH and I take turns to get up with the littlies, and today was his turn. As a result I've had a lazy day so far - all I've done is eat breakfast, and I'm still sitting in bed in my PJs! BUT... I have a lot to do.
THIS MORNING:
Answer work emails
Organise work diary (I have got a bit disorganised, I need to get everything straight!)
Organise my diary and update to-do lists - ditto
Get lunch for toddler and me
THIS AFTERNOON
Write mum's bday card
Pack for night away - me, dd, ds1, ds2
Laundry laundry laundry! See how much I can get done before we have to leave at 3pm
Right, enough chatting and web surfing - to work0 -
Rant Alert
WHY is it impossible for dog owners to understand the words, 'Please could you keep your dog away from mine. She's very frightened of other dogs.' What is so difficult about that? Is it clear, does it sound polite enough, or does that sound like a foreign language to anyone?
She's wearing yellow ribbons, she's in season, she's arthritic, she's been harassed by out of control dogs, she's very elderly and she's made it very clear she's terrified of all other dogs.
What is it about their wretched dogs that gives them the right to shove their noses up under her tail and chase her?
I have yet to meet a single bl00dy dog owner whose dog is off the lead on Plymouth Hoe who has the intellectual capacity to understand that when I ask them to keep their dog away from mine, it's for a good reason, and they then do so. To a man, and it is almost always men, they say 'Don't worry, he/she won't hurt her' or 'It's okay, he/she is only a puppy.' I don't care what you think about your dog - I didn't ask you whether your dog was okay with other dogs, I didn't ask how old it was and none of that is of any interest to me or my dog.
And not one, not one of these bl00dy dogs EVER comes to call. Not one.
What is WRONG with people?
\rant over.
Sorry.Better is good enough.0 -
Must be utterly infuriating, Honey.
I was/am trying to input meter readings online. In the process I have emptied the-cupboard-under-the-stairs and am now sorting through the stuff there.
