Spoke too soon, just had a complete disaster, DH and DS have just come in to let me know that all my chickens have been had by the fox, and in the daytime too. Poor Mr Sullivan and his girls. I could cry. Mr S was over 6 years old. I am gutted. My good day is ruined.Poor girls and they were so lovely.

Spends are now at £60.66 for the month. I have been looking back at the whole years spends from Jan to end of Oct and we have averaged out at £164.81 :) Pleased with this.
Tonight we had hm pasty out of freezer with some salad and some cheese & crackers after.
Spent this afternoon cleaning the top of the cooker   and oh did it need it.
Tomorrow I have some red peppers and tomatoes to use up so will make some soup and while they are roasting I will make a lamb curry for tea.
Think its about time to sort out a meal plan and shopping list with daughter soon, we are going to hers for Christmas day and here on Boxing day.
Hope everyone is well and keeping warm. I do know that our heating bill is going to be MAHOOOOSIVE as we both feel the cold!! :(

Maria I am so sorry about your poor hens and cockerel! (((Hugs))) xx

Spent £18 in MrS, not the cheapest of shops but a few YSs and a £2 off a £20 spend. I got a few vege burgers and sausages and some vege mince so I have some fast dinners to fall back on if I get home late or too tired to cook completely from scratch. Vege mince and a tin of kidney beans are easily and quickly turned into a chili into the pressure cooker, accompanied by rice or couscous, or even sliced bread if time is really short.

    Going to update sig now.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Maria, What bad news, I feel for you! I lost my favourite hen last week, she had started to molt just when we had the first really bad frosts. It's never the same starting again with a new lot but you must replace them in spring, give yourselves some time to recover from the shock :(

NSD today, having to go tomorrow but half way through the month, so not all that bad on the budget.

Oh Maria, so sorry to hear your news, how very sad :( xxx

Reporting a spend of £5.15 yesterday, would have liked a NSD but unfortunately I haven't been to well and a medical appointment yesterday left me completely exhausted :( So hubby had to nip to T3sco and buy an emergency dinner for him and eldest boy... considering he got chicken nuggets, chips, a bottle of cola and a bag of popcorn for £5.15... I think I am teaching him pretty well (apart from the fact that Iwouldn't have bought those items, I'll let him off this time ;) )

Hopefully back on track today, although I'm not too worried... looking at the budget we should be fine :)

    Hi Everyone,

Thank you for the kind words about my chickens.

I have just realised if I do not spend today it will be 10NSD in Nov and 4 spend days and one of those was £1. Now I realise this is not world shattering, but it feels like a breakthrough for me. I find it so hard ot look at the fridge half empty, even if I know there is lots in the freezer.

Anyway Te$$o booked for weekend delivery, should be £33 if everything comes and I am hoping this will take me to months end. Although that is 2 weeks and the milk will only do 10 days,so I may need a top up, which will push me over... and of course now need eggs! No, just realised, I can do it, 158 plus 33 is 191, so 9 left for last week of bread and milk! Easy! Maybe...

    Have a good day everyone.
