  • Hi,

I am amzed at how little you all spend. I am very impressed.

Today I found OH had bought sausages that are lurking in the fridge, but no potatoes in the house. So I have to be brave and go to a shop and ONLY buy potatoes.

Already planning meals for next week

Yesterday was first time back at work after the plague. Did a short day but was still wiped out when I got home. Crashed immediately, meaning a good long nights sleep and a NSD.

Thinking there might be a spend of £1.10 today with the egg man, but I've not been in so might have missed him already this week. Also considering if i should drop out of getting eggs...

...What do people think? I can buy 6 high(ish) welfare eggs from Geoff, who comes round at work each week, and means I'm actually prompted to buy eggs, for £1.10.

Or i can buy 18 barn eggs from Sainsbobs for about the same price. Would need to actually go out and shop, but only every couple of weeks, but I'd likely spend at least a tenner.

    WWYD?
We have our own chickens who are very obliging and give me 4 eggs a day, every day. The man who delivers you eggs in work, if they are really organic and home grown, stick with him. If not buy the cheapest, all others are the same.
  • Having a day in today no need to go to shops and it's another rainy day just need to find a way to keep highly energised DS happy as he is running around and bouncing off the walls lol

Hi all, spotted some reduced price leaf gelatine in a small sainsbobs yesterday 20p a packet so bought 8, as they are in date till july 2017.
Been to MrM's today for the weekly shop, spent £62.02 which included lots of meat and fish and a rather bargainous piece of gammon, reduced to £8.55 for just over 2.5kg, but when scanned went through for £5.70. It's on a promotion of 1/3 off so looks like it took the 1/3 off the reduced price. I'm going to cut it into 3 and freeze.
    Also popped into B & M and spent £4.

Which means I've got £40.15 left till the end of the month, I've been doing the christmas saver at MrM's so will need to keep all of it for next weeks shop and that should cover me till the end of the month. Will have to use December's money for the last week of November's token but I won't need to eat any of it until December so that works for me

  • Hello everyone,
I've been a bit neglectful in posting this week but have an update now- It's not going too well tbh :/.
    Saturday- NSD
Sunday- went to Oxford, stupidly forgot DD's water so had to buy a ridiculously priced one on train and had lunch from bakery and dinner at la tasca. Spent £38.50 in total.
    Monday- NSD
Tuesday- DH ordered Chinese as a treat- wish he hadn't

    £18.40
Weds- another 'treat' for DH- whopper meal
£5.99 and had shopping delivered as got a £15 voucher- £48.96.
    Today- NSD
    This brings our total to
£207.01/ 300 which is pretty bad.
We are going to center parcs next week (Yay :) ) which I've got a separate budget for but will be taking groceries with us so having another delivery Sunday . We get back on the 21st so will have about

£40 for 9 days, which we can do I think... but I'll have to hide DH's debit card!
    November GC- £322.43/£300. Dec - £364/£400
  • Afternoon all.

Baked potatoes and tuna tonight, suitably yummy for a damp and dismal afternoon. We are still getting 3 eggs a day from 4 girls (one of them is post menopausal:rotfl:)

  • Hi

Frugalinshropshire, your hen and my cockerel should get together, he is about 120 in people years, much too old to crow now. He does keep the girls in order.

Anyway I did it. I spent £1 on potatoes, which are now in our tummies and never bought anything else. Amazing. I would not dare to do it again too soon.

    Have a good evening everyone.
