Good News, I got the money in my account.. Scary to think that is the last bulk of money I am going to get now until I get a new job.. EEK.
There is a job in the local Mr T express for 28 hours a week. It would be a walk away and working most early mornings like my OH. I am seriously considering applying to fill the gap. It would also be some income to pay at least most of the bills... I would hope. Shouldn't pay tax either as it would be too low an amount. So far I am managing to survive without any kind of benefits. I really do not want to ask the government for help unless I really have to.
So I was looking at how far I have come. I started with a £5000 loan to pay off my credit card. That was in September. I started my diary in October when I found out I was going to be made redundant. Between then and now, I have paid off £864.02 from my loan, not including the interest so almost down to £4000. I managed to save £1000 for my emergency fund but after this month, being tight and careful with my money, I have an additional £200. I have enough money from one weeks wages and one weeks holiday to pay off my bills this month so have a nice little fall back of £1240. I am making money on E of Bay. Granted not a lot and I still have a lot to learn but I am getting there. I am hopeful.
I am taking a break this weekend from serious job hunting as not many people post new jobs at the weekend and I feel it will do me good to relax a bit.. Having said that..
My List for Today:
1. Wash up any dishes by hand
2. Sort out clothes washing and change for the launderette (washing machine is broken, grrr)
3. Consider baking some cakes/loaf cake.
4. Relax!
Hope you all have a lovely Saturday!

I think you get a 10% staff discount working for Mr T's so that in itself makes it worthwhile going for! Even if like you say it's just to tide you over, although I think they do a good benefits package for staff, good pension etc. (No I don't work there myself haha).
If you treat job hunting as your current 'job' as you seem to have been doing, working hard at it, it's only right to have a deserved break at the weekend. Otherwise you'd go stir crazy with the days becoming indistinguishable.
Enjoy today, we've been taking down shelves, curtains, packing boxes, the house is a complete tip. Ah well!!0 -
Definitely go for the Mr T job. Staff discount, close to home. 28 hours giving you enough time to do some job-hunting but keep you afloat in the meantime. Who knows, you might really like it?
I've said plenty of times I would like to quit and work in a supermarket one day. Not right now... I can't really halve my hourly rate just to have less to worry about whilst at work!! Maybe a night shift
I think a weekend off is a good idea indeed. Treat it like a Monday to Friday 9-5 & take some time for yourself. Figure out what you can do; what you want to do, and what will encompass both and pay the bills
Big hugs. Hope you have had a lovely Saturday! xxx

I'm glad you're taking a minute to yourself this weekend and also took stock of your progress- which is totally going in the right direction and you SHOULD slap yourself on the back. The MR T job sounds like something that would be perfect to fill the gap.. nice hours, nice distance away, and if you really don't enjoy it you haven't really lost anything by giving it a go and deciding it wasn't right - so deffo -bung in an application:)
remember all that worrying you did about procrastination when you first stopped your job? none of that has happened and so for that you should be super proud of yourself, you always have your self motivated to-do lists and all the other stuff you keep up with so i hope you realise that you're excelling the high standard you set for yourself already and come what may, everythings gonna work out as it shouldxx

Definitely go for the job at Mr T. You can then take your time looking for another job and relax knowing the bills are covered. I think it takes a while to qualify for their staff discount though, can't remember if it's 6 or 12 months. I know it's longer than if you work for Mr A which is 12 weeks.
Did you get past the 'consider' stage of baking? XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Mr M has no qualifying time! My friend took a Christmas job there and came home with the remains of the deli counter every night for 10p a piece, big pies, 6 packs of sausage rolls etc :rotfl:
Hope your weekend has been perfectly lovely and you are ready and raring for Mondays pursuits October. Much love xxx

Go for it, I did part time work in M & S one xmas, came home every night with heaps food bargains, my office chums got excited every morning to see what I had brought in for them.
I wouldn't mind working in a supermarket, one of my friends used to do shelf stacking at night - had a great bit of banter with the young ones working there.

Hey October! Sorry I haven't posted in a while but... where are you?! I thought you had a shiny new laptop!!! You've made such amazing progress since October and as, Levi says, it sounds like you've been very busy on the job hunting front. Really hopefully something comes along for you soon. Definitely consider Mr T, whilst it may not be the direction you'd like your career to go in, anything which can take the mental stress off you has got to be a good thing! My mums worked for them for 20 odd years and refuses to leave and give up her discount card! Hope you're well - please come back and update us! You said above you didn't feel like you had anything positive to update - it really doesn't matter with us guys! If you want to come on here and moan/vent - go for it! Anyone who doesn't like it, well they can just stop reading and get the hell out of diaryland!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £6,450.00
Total paid off - £9,150.89 (58% paid off)0
