Bad Idea all the single mothers on Benefits of £10000000000000000000 a year fly first class. It's also full of reality TV stars trying to work out how to tie their shoe laces.
Only way to go is to get a much, much, much better job and hire a private jet.
On a more serious note while I feel for the OP he could have had a quick word with the flight crew.Iva started Dec 2018.0 -
Maybe there would be a benefit to provide for both - a small number of adult only flights at a slight premium, which would subsidise family flights with extra facilities/cabin staff to help harassed parents?
Oh, I don't get the impression the OP wants to pay any extra for the 'privilege' of flying in a child-free environment. :rotfl:0 -
I have recently had 2 flights, one 4 hours the other 8 hours, sat next to an obese adult who took up half of my seat. The 4 hour flight was the worst as he couldnt put the arm rest down he was so big, the other just spread over the arm rest.
both flights were full so I couldnt move.
I think I would have rather sat next to a child, to an Obese adult.
Maybe they should have to buy 2 seats0 -

What could they have done0 -
Hello.
They do do occasional adult only flights to popular destinations.
Look up 2wentys (a Thomson Holiday Company)
Or Club 18-30 (a division of Thomas Cook)
I doubt there will be many "2 year old brats" on they flights.
Maybe these flights would suit you better?
You think they only put people who have bought those packages on the flight? Of course they don't, everyone going to the same destination, regardless of which package they bought, will be on the same flight, the '2twentys'/'Club 18-30' experience starts when you arrive.
TBH, I'd rather be on a flight with a screaming 2yo than a group of drunken twenty somethings, at least the 2yo doesn't know any better.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Agreed. Also I was once on a flight with a family three of whom had laptops all playing very loud different shoot em up computer games, aargh0 -
We got on a flight (not too many years ago) when a group of drunken louts (who had been warned to calm down by the flight attendants mid air) started kicking off again and drinking from their own supply of duty free. The child (must have been approx 7 years old) stood up and top of his voice told them to shut up, sit down and behave themselves. I think him saying that and the flight applausing the young lad embarrassed the group enough for the rest of the flight as we didn't hear another peep out of them. The police were ready at the other end to meet the flight ready for trouble.
There are times when it is not just children who cannot behave on flights and sometimes it takes a child to remind adults to set examples at times. No, I don't have children, I was with my husband, and there were threats that if the group didn't calm down the flight would be diverted.I worked as a case clerk for the IS for a number of years. Any views expressed are my own. If your query is urgent, please contact the OR or LTADT dealing with your case directly.

I must admit when I saw this thread title I thought it was a plea for "mile high club" flights. Perhaps planes with 100 seats and 50 toilet cubicles.0

Fraid not, engaged, daughter is single and working. Single parent as two young men sat either side desperately wanting to be somewhere else. On benefits - never met a single parent yet who hadn't found some way to screw money out of the working population.
No benefit to airline carrying single parent with young child, they add weight but don't pay for a seat. Unfortunately adult only holidays do use same flights as families which is why I made the original comment. With 2 or 3 flights to a destination per week it shouldn't be too hard to make one adult only.
Let me introduce myself. Single parent to two children, working full time. Not screwing any money from anyone.
Now, shove off with your opinions. They stink.0 -
In all the flights I've ever been on (a lot) adults have been just as much a problem as kids. It's someone else's fault.0
