Thanks Monz! Only need one more to complete the set!

I bought a doorbell at Lidl at the weekend but some of the bits were missing so took that back. That also meant I could use the refunded money to buy some bits which we needed (milk and loo roll - essentials!) as I'd already overspent on my food budget (in part due to the doorbell!)

I also started buying some bits for my friends baby - got baby shampoo etc from home bargains. I started saving for this when I found out she was pregnant so it was allocated. Need to start getting more bits, as before you know it baby will be here! Also got another friend who's pregnant so if I see any 2 for 1 deals I can use one of whatever it is for each. I did this for another friend and she was very shocked at my haul! Everyone tends to buy outfits etc so I try to buy more practical stuff. I'm also making progress with the baby blanket I'm crocheting for her - may even get it done on time! :rotfl:

Off for dinner and to the cinema later with friends. Should have said no - but its another chance to catch up with my friend who's over from Aus. She's only here for a month so I want to make the most of it, so wont be too hard on myself. But I will buy a can of pop before I go to have in the cinema and will possibly have water at dinner to save some pennies.

Nothing else exciting to report (not that any of the above is particularly exciting:rotfl:)!

Hi twiggy, I'm also attempting MSE slimming world, I have the books and have bought a lot of stuff that I can have 'free' in my food shop, such as baked beans, rice, pasta, fish and fruit etc. I think I went a bit overboard with the chicken and fish, we have 14 chicken breasts, 4 portions of salmon, and tuna steaks. We should be ok for a while :rotfl: Check charity shops for scales, I saw some in the local british heart foundation shop the other day for £1, they were the glass digital ones. I'm going to be using the hospital scales, seeing as I go at the same time every 6 weeks.

Just spotted on your signature you're £5 better off than you think you are, as you're remaining CC balance is less than your total balance...

Keep us posted on your SW progress, I'm not doing very well as I get tempted by crisps and stuff you're not supposed to have!

Well spotted AleMrsT! I shall update that now!

I'm hoping I can keep myself on track doing SW on my own! I'm fine during the day but it's the evening when my OH is sat there eating crisps and chocolate that I struggle! I'm also bad with sauces - might have a salad but then pile on the mayo! :rotfl:Still haven't managed to weigh myself so must do that really so I know how I'm doing! I work near lots of charity shops so I may go for a wonder at lunch to see if I can spy any scales!

Thought I'd see if I could still log into the SW website - it asked me a couple of questions but I'm in and can access all the recipes! Definitely wont be joining and paying £5 a week - but must see if I can hunt down some £1 scales! :rotfl:

Well that film was bloody rubbish! However had a fun night out with my friends. I was naughty though and had ice cream at the cinema so spent £14.50 plus the £8.50 for the cinema tickets which I'd already transferred to my friend. So I put £19.50 on my card - not my CC - I always have £100 buffer in my bank account which I top up each month if I've gone into it. So not all bad and I wont beat myself up too much!

I was bad with money this weekend and I don't like it!
Ok - so why did I do this again?! Had another spendy weekend, in part due to friend still being over from Aus so went for lunch yesterday - but did that mean that I had to have dessert?! I think not. Never mind, I can only keep trying. Just don't know why I've been so bad recently.

I don't want to do this but here's a rough breakdown of my spends this weekend:-
Friday - £5 on alcohol (did upload receipt for £1.55 back off COS) + £10 tobacco
Saturday - £16 for breakfast with friends for me and OH (he owes me his half)
Sunday - £23 on lunch out + £5 on takeaway

I'm sure I'm missing something though!

I did however manage 2 NSDs last week - not as many as I would have liked but it's a start that I know how many there were! Today is a spend day (food shop) but I want to try get at least 3 NSDs this week.

In other news - our house fund pot has also run dry so definitely don't think I'll achieve my aim of £1,000 in there by xmas. However, it has all been spent on house renovations so not all bad as I'm happy work is progressing. My aim by the end of this week is to have given the bannister/spindles a light sanding. Will need some filler too but that shouldn't be too much.

I found £10 in my pocket meaning the damage done over the weekend wasn't as bad as I thought! And yesterday was a NSD!:j Hoping for another today.
I also went for a quick run last night and ankle wasn't too bad and doesn't hurt/ache any more today, so fingers crossed I can ease myself back into training again!

Another NSD yesterday! :j Must celebrate the small triumphs!

I gave my first blood donation yesterday so I'm feeling good about myself (although not actually feeling good as still keep coming over light headed!) Have signed up for the next one too in December. Is it sad that I'm excited about finding out my blood group?! :rotfl:

Hoping my day gets better as started with a silly argument with OH! Both stressed over money as he hasn't been paid (was meant to be paid last Friday) and boss is about to go on holiday so fingers crossed he pays him for two weeks before he goes. However apparently I'm not allowed to get stressed! Anyway rant over! I do have some money that OH gave me the week before which he owed me that I need to put in the bank, but cant/don't want to use it, as OH borrowed it from my "pots" and my car insurance is due next month so I need it back for that. If that makes any sense!

Well my day has taken a definite turn for the worse! OH has just sent me a message to inform me that he has quit his job! Is he kidding me? Is it just me that thinks its better to be owed money than not be earning it?! Yes he should have been paid but its no good not earning! I am praying that by the time I get home he has something else lined up. He's a very good builder and a while ago did have a few people wanting him to work for them, so hoping he can manage to get something with one of them. If not I may be liable to strangle him! We can just about scrape by on my wages but why should I have to scrape by? And if he doesn't pay me back what he owes me before my car insurance/home insurance is due I wont be able to pay for them - which I have been saving all year to do. Fingers crossed for me please!

Ok so after speaking to OH he has informed me that he only "quit" to scare them into paying him. His boss is away next week so they'll need him to do the work but he has said he wont unless he's paid first! Hopefully they don't find someone else to do it!

If he's out of work it completely scuppers my plans and I'm not sure how we'll get by, particularly as its a week and a half until my payday and I literally clear my bank out and rely on OH's money so have nothing to cover us! Even from pay day it will be so tight if we're just relying on my wage. Must look into how much notice I need to give cancel mortgage overpayment in case I need the extra £100. Feeling so stressed! Doesn't help that car and home insurance are due in the next 2 months either!

Meant to be going to an open air cinema tonight (not a drive in) and it is currently raining cats and dogs! Really hoping it clears up as I've already got my ticket and don't want to waste the money but equally don't want to sit in the rain (and you're not allowed umbrellas!) If I do go I'll have dinner before and take a drink. Partly to be good and partly because if OH doesn't get paid I have no money in my purse!

OH needs a lift tomorrow at the same time I was meant to be having a hair cut, so going to cancel appointment to save money as it doesn't desperately need doing. It would only be £15.75 and I have the money aside but might as well stretch it out!
