Twiggy! You are a true inspiration! Well Done! You have ploughed away at your debts one by one working them away while continuing work on your house. I hope you are proud of your accomplishments. I know there is still a way to go but I know you will get there.
Keep up the fantastic work!

Sorry I haven't posted in nearly two weeks! Had an interview yesterday which involved a 15 minute presentation so I've been focussing on that. Interview went well overall - I'm happy with how I performed but I unfortunately I can't make other people perform badly! Job would be great as its the next step I need to take to progress my career. However it would mean a pay cut of £5,200! But I wouldn't get the rate I'm on anywhere so I will definitely accept IF I'm lucky enough to get offered the position. Will just need to reign things in even more! And it will be a case of short term (18 months-ish) pain for long term gain!
Which brings me on to my confession... I've been feeling completely out of sync with my money as couldn't log on to my banking, which has led me to have a bit of a "sod it" attitude! So I did buy something on Next (in my defence it was an outfit for my interview) and something on my CC (okay no excuse here). I've just done my budget for next month and I can pay them both off completely again. But as I'm going away for a weekend in July, it does mean that my debt busting wont be very great. But I will get myself back on here more regularly and get myself back on track - I really want to see my debt go down into the £3ks - which is my aim by the beginning of August!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,555.00
Total paid off - £10,045.89 (64% paid off)0 -
Plus I will be able to pay for my car repairs without touching my emergency fund! I can't pay my parents back now as I used £160 of the money to pay for the DJ for my mum's party on Friday - so mum may wonder why it's £160 short so I'll leave it until after then.
Plus my car passed its MOT fine and I have the money to pay for that too!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,555.00
Total paid off - £10,045.89 (64% paid off)0 -

Ahhh I've been so rubbish! Ok so where to start...
Mum's party was great - thanks for asking! She was so happy with everything, loved seeing everyone and loved her cake! I then took her to Bath for the day on Monday for a wander around the tourist sites and to the spa - which she loved although was knackered the next day. All of this was budgeted for as been putting money aside for the last few months.
Car repairs and MOT have all been paid back to my parents.
I received a tax rebate of £110.20 which is good as I've been rubbish with money this month!
My interview went well and I've got a second interview in a couple of weeks - so keep your fingers crossed for me!
I had my appraisal at work yesterday which was all very positive, criticism is the areas I know I need to work at and a £4k pay rise effective immediately which is good as its pay day today! That works out at roughly £200 extra a month, which I'm sticking straight in my emergency fund as if I do get this other job I will want the security of having something put aside as now it's an even bigger pay cut!
I've started going to circuits twice a week and I'm really starting to notice a difference, particularly in my upper body strength as I can now do pull ups! Also been going to parkrun on a Saturday and taken 1 minute 40 seconds off my time since I started circuits!
Tomorrow I'm helping a friend at two kids parties which will earn me an extra £40. I'll use this to pay the bit that is back on my Bcard () which I haven't cleared with my wages which will leave £20 on there. But must get this cleared and then behave myself as I really want to see the back of the other CC debt!
However, the slightly more negative is that because I've been bad this month I can only afford to pay £50 off my debts - but better than nothing. I'm going to Newquay for a weekend in July as well which doesn't help my debt busting but it is budgeted for and I'm really looking forward to it!
OH has also been a bit rubbish with money recently and hasn't been given me as much as he was before, although he has done some more work on the house and bought a few things for that. He gives me the minimum we've agreed but not a lot extra which has impacted my debt busting. We had a chat last night and I think he's back on track but does have a few things to pay out for this month. Fingers crossed we're BOTH back on track now!
So I think that covers everything that's happened whilst I've been AWOL! Must catch up on some diaries to see what I've missed!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,555.00
Total paid off - £10,045.89 (64% paid off)0 -
Morning diary!
So helped friend with parties which earnt me £40 and I actually quite enjoyed. Went to circuits before as was owed a session and couldn't go to park run as I'd be back too late to help friend. Followed by a BBQ as our lodger has gone travelling for 3 months. So by the end of Saturday I was knackered but on the plus side I hadn't spent any money as lodger bought the food and I had some pimms in the house!
Checked bank today and £30 cash back for switching energy through Martin's switch thingy has gone in so paid that off my Halifax CC. Plus £5 reward from Hfax should go in today/tomorrow so I'll pay that off too. I've got some money to put in the bank to pay more off plus the £40 from Saturday towards the Bcard CC. However as the weather is so beautiful and I work by the beach, I refuse to spend my lunch break going to the bank when I could sit in the sun and watch the world go by!
Went to circuits again last night which was very hot! Need to book up another block as that makes it 50p cheaper per session, plus it makes sure I go if I've booked in advance!
Must go food shopping tonight as we are so low on everything! Even "wombled" so loo rolls from work yesterday as knew we'd run out before I went shopping tonight! However I did also have to buy some bits for my lunch today on my way to work as didn't have any fruit or anything, but did try and get some deals. £1 for 150g of strawberries or £2 for 400g - you've got to watch for these things!
Ok I'm rambling now - bye!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,555.00
Total paid off - £10,045.89 (64% paid off)0 -
