:T Well done on the freebie chicken and the £3 voucher. It is always worth complaining.

I agree with you about the wardrobes, you will appreciate them a lot more if you are able to budget for them and pay them off yourselves, also once you've paid your parents off completely you'll have another :j in your signature!! :rotfl:

So last night did not go to plan! Had a splitting headache by the time I got home so took some tablets and went to bed for an hour! Then woke up starving and freezing and no motivation to cook so got a take away!
However OH had been super busy sorting out the living room which is now clear of tools which have been moved to the empty space which will become (at some distant point in the future) the downstairs bathroom! Hopefully by the time we fit out the bathroom the tools will have a home somewhere other than back into the living room! I did feel mean just going straight to bed but I really wasn't up for anything else.

AleMrsT - you're right, I can't wait to have another :j in my signature! The state of the bedroom is driving me nuts, so maybe this weekend I'll at least have a sort out to try and organise it a bit better.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Tools are a pain aren't they. Expensive but necessary to have the right one per job. My OH has them in the shed and cupboard under the stairs.

Twiggy I totally see why you turned down your parents offer. It flies in the face of what you are trying to achieve so that's why you said no. Even if it is only to your parents it is a debt. Do you really care about the clothes rail? Is it worth putting back your DFD for? If yes then that's fine but just consider it.

So last night I broke down an hour away from home!!!! I was then told my RAC that my membership had expired but managed to call again and speak to someone sensible who knew what they were talking about and yes whilst the membership number I gave them was my old one (only had my old card on me), a policy under my name and address had been renewed! Then one guy turned up and told me he didn't have time to tow me before the end of his shift (and apparently he's not allowed to go over) so had to wait for another tow truck - and all the time my battery was rapidly decreasing on my phone but fortunately only died after the second guy had turned up! So 4 hours it took until I got home!!! Oh and this is all with my boss' 10 year old son - although she picked him after 2 hours and actually he was really well behaved and only moaned a few times that he was bored! Nightmare evening!

So I will now have to borrow some money off my parents! Possibly be between £300 - £400 to fix according to RAC man's estimate and I currently have £60 aside for car maintenance, £20 aside for a new car and £125 in my emergency fund which if I pool together that gives me £205. However, my MOT and service is due next month so that wipes out my car maintenance fund and next month is already looking expensive as its my mums birthday but I do have £80 for her present put aside.

In more positive news - I signed up for Tough Mudder! Really excited/nervous but I've got until end of September to get fit! And also my blinds are getting fitted today! Can't wait to get home and see what they look like!

What a rubbish evening. :( Its a shame you'll have to borrow money back from them, but it can't be helped, and its important to get the car back up and running again.
How do the blinds look? And WELL DONE :T on signing up for tough mudder!!

Blinds look great AleMrsT! Nice to have a dark bedroom in the morning! However according to the fitters apparently the one in our bedroom is damaged and so they've got to come back - but I can't see anything wrong with them! But I wont be paying them the other half of the money until they come back out!

Getting my car back later today fingers crossed and will find out the damage! Not been too bad so far - mum has dropped me into work yesterday and today and boss gave me a lift home yesterday as she was heading my way (and it meant I got to finish work an hour early!) So just a mile walk and two buses to get home tonight. OH offered to pay for a taxi but I declined!

And my parents have given me the money for tough mudder as my birthday present as it falls the day after my birthday. Plus I'm one of those people who never normally knows what they want so mum was happy to give me the money on something I actually want!

And gosh I can't believe I haven't mentioned this already but I have interview for a training contract next month! Not holding out much hope as I have to do a 15 minute presentation on a subject of my choosing within the scope of "the future of legal services" and have absolutely no idea! This does mean I need to get an interview appropriate outfit, but I now have shoes as got some for my last interview!
