I went to do a credit control job chasing companies, when i arrived it actually was chasing individuals for credit card debts, they give me a debt ledger and a phone and told me to get on with it, I tried it for two hours, and it was a soul sucking miserable job.
When the overly chirpy "Team leader" tapped me on the shoulder and advised me "I could go to the toilet now" I got up and walked out the door.
The daft gimp chased me across the car park demanding I come back.0 -
Three hours.
An agency sent me to do a filing role. I had told them explicitly that I was unable to kneel due to severe arthritis in my knees.
I arrived and was told to clear the bottom shelves in a filing cabinet - which meant me kneeling all morning.
I went for an early lunch, had to call my daughter to come and collect me as me knees were shot by that time, and went home and told the agency I would not be going back.0 -

1.5 days for a cable television company. On the second day, the team manager and the second (and only other) person in the team had both arranged to be out for the afternoon, leaving me as a complete novice to answer the telephones to irate members of the public whose roads were being dug up and driveways blocked by the cabling work. I decided I didn't want to answer those calls (it had never been mentioned at interview), so I didn't return after lunch.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I was a Kirby Hoover salesman for 1 day. That was a training day as well so I didn't really do any proper work for them. The whole thing just didnt sit right with me.0

2 days, my first job packing potatoes at a well known UK potato firm, on day 1 half way through the nightshift I faked sickness and went home, ashamed to tell the old man I didnt want to do it as it was so utterly brain damaging I went back the 2nd night. Determined to finish the night then after that never went back. Just told the old man not a chance, will find something else.0

About 3 months in telesales trying to sell double glazing and home improvements, hated it from the very first moment but personal pride refused to let me give up before I had given it a chance.
I am hopeless at sales and felt absolutely awful cold calling people. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Not my shortest job, but someone who (almost) worked here.
Apparently the company went to great lengths to get this employee employed at this location, great salary, great relocation package, an internal side step so he could just walk into the role.
Such is our problem with retention and reputation, said employee walked up to security on his first day handed over his laptop and security card and left.0 -
A few weeks working for a merchandising company, basically going round a supermarket and putting all those plastic strips of products on the aisles. Nightmare at Christmas time trying to get a cage on the floor, even if they let me! Had enough when they told me to sort out the previous persons mess that was left of 3 full cages of stock that I had no idea what to do with as no training!0
