  • I did a paper round for one day when I was 13. I quit after the first round when I realised that getting up at 5am 6 days a week, to walk several miles around town, all for the princely sum of £11 a week was a pretty bad deal.
  • 2 days at this place....

I didn't really like the idea of trying to rip off pensioners of their hard earned savings

About 5/6 months in a factory on a production line making the wiper blade stalks for the VW, SEAT, Skoda cars.
  • About 2 months temping in an insurer's claim centre which was about 35 miles away from me and in the middle of no where. Was supposed to be a longer assignment but the 2000 fuel protests happened and couldnt get petrol and would have been 5 buses and a train to get there without the car. Unfortunately they werent prepared to let me have the time off given the uncertainty over how long it would last etc.

A flat mate at around the same time had a job for about 3 hours, was door to door trying to sell discount voucher booklets. Was a 90 minute induction, 30 minute bus to the neighbourhood they were supposed to target. 60 minutes of having doors slammed in his face and then he decided it wasnt for him and left

about 20 minutes when the recruitment agency lied about the role. I told them I don't do phone work and they said ''it's ok, this job is just internet/emailing etc''. I got there and got told I had to make about 200 phone calls per day.
    I just walked out, lol

A day and a half - Cold calling Americans from a Manchester "search tool" company, can't remember the name, did sound more like a dating company though. Was told originally that it was inbound sales.

Just walked out a few hours in to the second day - I'd have been fired anyway, I'm an introvert and can't deal with cold calling only to hear angry people shout at me all day.
