  • Morning. Could someone tell me which items are best for the impulse 3 for £10 comparison. I spotted them in my local yesterday but can't remember what to buy with them. Thank you

That sounds like the perfect Christmas list - gin, perfume, cook book - possibly some posh choc as well?
I subscribe to Hotel choc (an indulgence i know). So get a nice box through the post every 3 months :D In all fairness, they end up in a birthday pressie/xmas stash, just in case. I still have a £50 debenhams voucher from ly that I've not spent :o

Nanny - it worked well for me. Started June 2013 at a little over 11 stone and got down to 9st8lb within a few months. All inclusive holidays have meant a gain of about 4/5 lbs each time but this has come off again very quickly. Before I went to Sr Lanka last month I made an effort and got down to 9st5lb before I went so that I had a bit of leeway. This morning I was 9st7lb - need another 2 lbs off before Cyprus at the end of the month but thats not too critical.

I needed at least 20lbs off but other diets just didn't work long term as I couldn't cope with being on a permanent 'you can't eat this/drink that regime'. 5:2 doesn't feel like a diet.
I totally agree with you, it's very easy and I find filling up on fruit and water is the easiest way but you must weigh everything. well done for your weightloss :T

I think our nearest is Ashton, might make a special trip there soon :) Just saved this recipe too so thank you :A but will have to get a move on if I want to give it time to soak. Looking at the fruit mixes I might have to tweak them a little as I have loads of dates and cranberries to use up but it means mixing it up a bit, am sure it will be fine though. Do you have to use good quality spirits or is value stuff ok. We never have it in the house so would have to go and buy some specially
My bro used to live in Ashton. My mum's is Pemberton :D.
You can mix and match your fruit, so yes, put the dates/cranb etc in. As long as you have 730g to 1kg of fruit it will be fine. Any booze will work, doesn't have to be posh stuff. It's normally brandy, but I've used mixtures of brandy/dark rum/whatever is in the cupboard. My S is showing 350ml bottles of brandy/rum at £7 (you need 170ml) I'd have a look in Aldi or Lidl...

Mullers are good for any of those 3 shops as multi still not showing on msm, 6 if S or T and 5 for M. hth

Edit: It seems that the mullers are not proven to work in M so would dodge it on that shop. Thanks to Savvysal for the info :)
2nd edit: Seems it does work as per savvysals shop of today so should be ok for all 3 :D
  • Does anyone have any experience with halogen ovens? Picked up the Aldi special buys mag which says they've got one on sale for £29.99 next Thursday.

In theory they look like a great idea, but I have a pr / marketing background, so I tend to be sceptical about this sort of thing. ;)

I have one but probably don't make the most of it - I use it like extra oven space. If I am cooking a roast dinner and the oven is full I use it to cook roasties or pigs in blankets. I have also used it to grill burgers and bake pizzas. Not sure if this helps you though :o Someone else might know more.

well done munqui on the free HE :T

    Thanks tigerwhite for posting! :money:

I'm still not quite sure why this worked as thought once on A.com it was game over.

    Is this below correct?

midday apg super computer updates prices from msm (no mbuy on HE)
some point after, the HE becomes 2f£4 on A.com and msm picks this up.
next morning 6am ish the apg super computer updates prices from msm again.

If so, I wonder if you need to claim APG before the 6am update
