I doubt very much they will stop the coupons and vouchers they NEVER do things to save US money, only things that make THEM money and rest assured they are making money from them
we have a right to take advantage of their policy without being made to feel like scroungers and humiliated, sent all over the store and wait on managers who dont know their backsides from their elbows, we spend a lot of money with them, were entitled to a consistent service,
how would you deal with "30pence off coke" then at the checkout the operator said
"sorry I dont know anything about that you have to pay the full price,"
would you say
"well id better pay up or they wont take any more money off coke again?"0 -
Going off track from the Tesco theme slightly, does anyone out there know what the official line from Sainsbury HQ is regarding internet vouchers?
For my past three visits to Sainsbury in July I have had internet vouchers accepted. Indeed, a manager was called to the checkout on 2nd July (wish I had got his name!!) and he stated both to the checkout operator and to me that Sainsbury would accept internet vouchers even if I was not purchasing the specific goods printed on the voucher, but that only one voucher per product could be used, ie not two or three of the Durex vouchers, only one.
Went in yesterday, purchased a whole load of wine and presented the vouchers, only to be told that they could not accept them, and indeed they should not have accepted them on the previous weeks. Supervisor was called and he got clarification from his manager and came back with the same story. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. My point is - that if we all make a fuss - go to Watch Dog - get it on the tele etc. Then anyone with a PC and internet will print off these vouchers and use them. Ok Tesco don't care cos they get paid anyway - but how is a manufacturer going to cope with millions and millions of 25p coupons when no one is actually buying the product. It's OK for Tesco - one in every £8 is spent in Tesco, but are the people that make Surfcare going to be able to redeem millions of punds to Tesco when they don't even sell that many boxes - NO! So there you go... Tesco will say yes to the vouchers but there wonlt be any to print from the Internet - we will go back to seeing them on flyers and in magazines and newspapers, like the old days. The best thing about the internet ones are that they are endless in supply!! So just go with it... be gentle education my store takes them everytime. Although it is still a thrill when they do - cos it is FREE MONEY!!Charles J0

Last week I took in a handful of the vouchers which the assistant was happy to punch in the barcode numbers as they didn't scan, being a bit blurred. This week a different assistant told me that they had been instructed that they could only accept 2 vouchers for products that you hadn't bought. Is this new company policy or just this particular store being awkward?0

We have just been to Tesco this morning after using the vouchers there last week. This morning however, the self scan machine would not scan the vouchers and the assistants (4 of them involved in the end!!!!!) all had a different idea of what they could/could not accept.
In the end they advised me that they could only take colour vouchers, and only 3 (all had to be different) - They also said that I should not photocopy vouchers - which really got my back up as they were not photocopied, some were printed on a colour machine, some on a black and white. >:(
Next time I am just going to work out which machine it is that can scan them and just always use that one!
I agree that it could present problems if Tesco came out with apublic stated policy on what they do / do not accept but you would think that they would at least have an internal one that all there staff are aware of
Still another £2.50 saved today - HOORAY0 -
