Managed to get £6 off my shopping today although felt rather uncomfortable as cashier (young) tried scanning each and had to read each to check for expriy date. :-[ :-[
    Nice to save.

To replace the barcode is EAN-13 I was forgetting to add the spaces DOH! I have the clear barcodes now but I don't intend to use them as I think it is fraud to change the vouchers please tell me what you think on the new subject - Scanable Tesco vouchers --- Is it fraud?

Just to let you know that my local Tesco are still accepting the Durex voucher although they never manage to scan it - they put it in as a non-scan.
  • Went to Tesco yesterday - big disappointment - they tried and tried with the Durex voucher, but after having "escalated" it with management, they came back and advised me that the bar code is not correct for the voucher - this is one I downloaded probably a couple of months ago from this site, and have used no problem until Friday.

We need to find out the correct bar code for the voucher - any ideas?
  • ??? Both my local stores have consistently created problems with these vouchers, but Customer Services have written to me twice, outlining national policy, adding that they would advise local store management, and sending me 2 £5-00 vouchers. However, in last few days, both have again refused them, saying that Tesco have now changed attitude to acceptance and will not honour any of them!

Have again writen to Head Office and await reply, but it is very frustrating. Best I ever did was getting checkout to accept 5 Durex vouchers to pay for wine supply!
  • Saved £13 yesterday. The £2.50 whisky voucher scans perfectly. Told the young girl that I had a few vouchers to put through at the end. She then said 'Did you know we can take vouchers from other supermarkets!' Brilliant, I put through about 20 vouchers in total about 50/50 were scannable the others were put through as non scan.

Did we manage to get a copy of the £5 Glenfiddich voucher?

  • Hi all. I’m quite a newbie to all this, but saw the internet coupons and the fact that Tesco took them so I thought I’d have a go… well here’s my story. :)

I printed off some vouchers from the very good collated one’s of the MSE site and went into my local store and used the very new DIY till checkout. On trying to scan my coupons, the machine would not let me. An assistant told me that the new machines couldn’t take vouchers and that Tesco did accept internet vouchers and that I should pay and take my bill to customer services and to claim my money back. So I did. The girl on the customer services refused point blank to take the coupons at all, telling met that it wasn’t company policy. I asked when this policy was brought in (thinking it was new) and she had she had worked there for 2 ½ years and that was the policy. Knowing she was wrong, I went back to the original assistant who said- no we do take the vouchers and checked with a colleague who also said they take them- up to 10 % of the bill as long as Tesco stock that item. They both said that if I’d have gone on their manual tills, they’d have just scanned them for me with no problem. So, we all ended up back at customer services and a manger was called. The manager said no, they do not take coupons, and her staff told her that they did. So she rang head office who said yes they can take them!!! So, then she said- aha but these are printed. And I said yes- they’re off the internet (and how else could I hand over the coupons if they weren’t printed??!). So, she refused to take them!! I explained that this was not company policy and in fact Tesco will take internet coupons and mentioned Martin’s website. She then told me to print off the page on the website telling her this, and if I bring it in she will give me the money’s worth of the coupons I was redeeming (now it was only for £2.75 anyway!!). And, I didn’t realise that customers had to tell Tesco staff their own policy! So, I decided to ring Tesco customer services to see if they could clarify the position. Seems that the girl at Tesco was also in the dark. She tried to tell me Tesco do not take coupons for products that I hadn’t bought, but when I read out Stuart Robertson (head of Customer Services) email, she then said- alright, but we’ll only take one voucher. So, I explained that at my local Tesco, they refused point blank to take any vouchers from me. She said each store is going off a different policy(!!!) and it depends on the store in question where you attempt to redeem the coupons to if they work or not. Very strange for a large company. She then said she would speak to the head of customer services at my local store and they would ring me back in relation to this. No phone call came and I've emailed customer services and no reply to that message either. :( Next time I think I’ll go to a manual checkout, or failing that- Asda! Good luck to the rest of you trying to redeem.

I've been collecting scanable vouchers. and have been using a 60p voucher with my lunch in tesco every day.

If anyone has some high quality images to swap please get in touch. I intend rendering them into a pdf for better printing. ;)
