    Hiya

Have forwarded on the problems with the inconsistent responses and downright rude service that some customers are receiving and am now waiting for a response from mod 2. Fingers crossed.

It is difficult to know whether to keep quiet about this and hope we can wangle it for a few more months or whether we should get a clear and definate answer from Tesco. What do you think.

:-[ The assistant on till at my local Tesco's wouldn't accept them because they didn't scan through.  Is it ok to ask them to key in the barcode number?

Look do not give up ... they can put them through as a ' NO SCAN ' they did with us. Go for it ... don't give up

There seems little point in pushing them for a definitive answer - that would have to be along the lines of "we only accept coupons in line with the conditions printed on the coupon", as any other "official" line would cause problems.

It's not as if they are refusing legal tender!

We should be happy that some will take them and not rock the boat!
  • Tried to use internet vouchers at Tesco in Walsgrave Coventry, they wouldn't scan through so the young lad called the customer services... they refused as told that they can't accept them as too many frauds and photocopies...

didn't have the letter with me, but will take this next time, although they did seem adamant...

a tad embarrassing, but there you go - you don't get nothing for nowt... (except on the freebies board!!!)

Yep .... agree there too. I do believe though that once the chiefs in each store are OK with the letter then they are conditioned to accepting & all being well informing the till staff of the same. - LONG LIVE THE MONEY OFF VOUCHERS - Whether your're minted or not it's a bit of fun & as MSE says line your pockets & not these 'fat cat' stores.

I know what you are saying but surely it would be great advertising for Tesco's if they started to do this OFFICIALLY. I am shopping alot more at tesco now because of these vouchers. I don't know really. Its tricky.  ???

    Hello all

Have used vouchers at Tesco in the way suggested however the last time I was told that I could only use one voucher for a product I hadn't purchased per transaction. Is this the case?

If it is, take your kids along, put them in different queues, equip them with shopping and vouchers and hey presto! Free stuff! :D

  • Yes, you can only use ONE unique coupon in each transaction, you can make as many transactions as you like. Someone on this board goes in three or four times a day and has stocked up on everything that he can find that in no-perishable!

On the subject of making it offical or not through publicity - the manufacturers would have something to say about it if they have millions of vouchers as everyone will be doing it. Best to train your local store using the official letter and stick to that, otherwise the whole thing will be finished. Take the embrassment and the training to be your fee for getting free food and goods. We do not want to kill the golden goose!
