Well i survived the shopping trip with all 4 kids in tow.
Spent about £20 more than planned but have stocked up on lots of sauces, and cleaning stuff.
The kids were quite helpful which surprised me, wish they were being like that now all fighting over the same ps2 game, 3 playstations in the house and they still fighting!!!!!!Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Morning all
Taplady and Snowy for yesterday- hope you have lots of fun shopping for new clothes (my most favourite activity:D )
Jackie O you crack me up:rotfl: I reckon your having us on and your knickers are a gorgeous pair of french lace onesGood luck today matey I will be thinking of you
Had a wonderful weekend with my brother and his family - we did all the rides at Alton Towers loads of times and walked for miles - I was absolutely exhausted last night. I joked with them that I was going to wear my cut off denims and a tshirt no coat so therefore the rain would stay off and amazingly it did in fact I even topped my Egypt tan up a bit with the sun blazing down - these cut offs are staying on for the rest of July now :rotfl:
I am going to miss my brother so much when he leaves for Afghanistan on Thursday - 4 months with only very minimal contact and we talk nearly every day now so its going to be awful- back to snail mail I think
Today is an office day then Im away tonight for a couple of days running a course in the midlands - got to pay the bills i suppose particularly as my Next order from the sales has started to arrive (it comes in dribs and drabs) and I was kind of thinking I wouldnt like some of it so it could go back but so far its all lovely:o
Scuzz - Well done girl you deserve better dont let him use you again
Right back to work I guess - have a great day everyone0 -
Morning Everyone:hello:

Sorry your parents were out yesterday snowyowl - did you have a good day?
Have had my morning fix of " New Captain Scarlet" - I think this one is made really well! better than the original - how silly am I?:rotfl:
I didnt manage to get on yesterday, took the kids out for what was gonna be a short while cos i thought it was due to rain - ended up spending hours at Greenwich Park! kids were really wacked out!:rotfl: so today they just fancy stayin in and doing a "craft" day! so its painting boiled eggs and sticky collage pictures for me:D might go to Mr Ts to get a Gingerbread man cutter for some biscuits later!
Gosh I couldnt believe the extent of the flooding shown on tv last nite!! - I hope the rain eases and it starts to go down soon for you.

Hi Nelski
What suite did you stay in at A.Towers? I was looking at booking the splash landings one for the kids - I cant believe how expensive it is??!!
Hi Shez
We were in the Coca Cola (Celebration Suite) Everything was coke branded and there was a huge fridge full of the stuff!! It was very kid based things like every time you opened the door music started and the bathroom had the sound of coke pouring all the time:eek: I think Coke should have paid us for all the advertising they got:rolleyes:
Was it worth it???? Well it was for us as there were 3 adults and 2 kids and we also got park tickets, a day in splash landings, accelerator tickets (fantastic) and parking. Its is hideously expensive though and the rooms are not as big as I had hoped so you need to be very good friends:rotfl: Everything around the hotels is designed to get you to spend more money so I guess it needs to be a special occasion to do it
Splash Landings is good fun for the kids but defo take a book shez its hot and very noisy:D
HTH let me know if you need any more info0 -
Morning everybody :hello: (yikes, it's not the morning any more is it? Where did it go?)
Happy Birthday taplady :bdaycake:
Just found out from my boss that our annual payrise (cost of living + performance increment) is going in next month instead of this month   It will be backdated, and it's not the end of the world as it will be disposable income rather than something vital to keeping me in the black, but I was hoping to use it to fund a PruHealth policy with gym membership. Oh well, I'll just have to be a lazy cow for a bit longer(:j) The good news is that I'm told it will be RPI+1%, and as it was calculated in April when inflation was rocketing, it's going to be quite generous :j
JackieO - couldn't you fashion some lacy knicks out of some net curtains a la Scarlett O'Hara's frock:rotfl: Very moneysaving - recycling, dont'cha know :rotfl: Best of luck love and I hope the thought of that pic of George Clooney and Brad Pitt keeps you going
Nelski - my sister's BF is also in Afghanistan at the moment with the RAF - I wonder if he is stationed in the same place as your brother  My sis calls it his "extended holiday at Her Majesty's pleasure":rotfl:
PP - Peterborough is very nice to visit. I went to a wedding there last September.
scuzz - DON'T CAVE IN, you can do it!
Anyway I mustn't dawdle too long on here as I am short of working time this week. It is my busiest week of the month and I am off tomorrow afternoon (to queue for a particularly good Prom) and the whole of Wednesday (to sing at a funeral... WHY did it have to be bang in the middle of the day so I have to take the whole day as leave  ...still I have a MS job on Wednesday as well and it's one that will get me part of this week's grocery shopping on expenses! :j)
Hugs to all

Dia Dhibh!
JackieO thinking of you although no doubt you are beyond my reach at this time!
Scuzz...be strong...this guy is not good for you
Taplady:bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: Happy birthday, hope your area dries up soon, at least that it stops raining.
DLB...totally agree with Crazychick, next time FIL visits, go shopping or for a walk or whatever and leave children with him, he'll love it I'm sure.
Aussielass...how is your horsebite?? Don't worry about dgs's preference for Poppa ( what my children called my father) in my experience they learn who is the more important grandparent around the age of three!
Hester...congrats on being your lodger's inspiration.
PenPin, glad that you are enjoying your holiday, you really needed it. Good idea imho to have booked for new year...sounds very reasonably priced to me.
Fine misty showers here, so lawns will have to wait, will be a meadow at back if its not cut soon. Might take DGSs out to greenhouse while I pot up some more fuchsias, they are so easy to root at this time of year and very convenient to have as a gift if caught napping. Still sowing lettuce, fennel, herbs ( am having trouble with coriander this year, this is my third sowing), bok choi and even carrots, found some seeds didn't know we had.
Fish, steamed new spuds with lashings of butter, mange tout and spinach for dinner, pasta for lunch.
Hugs to all in need

Afternoon everyone....(((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Happy birthday Taplady........hope you are not affected by the floods, I know you live in that area...........
Scuzz......the cheek of the man, tell him to take a long walk off a short pier, or go play on the motorway.......how dare he!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You weren't good enough for him but he needs your help ggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
We looked at the weather and decided that the allotment was not a good idea, so we hopped on the bus and went to town. Got OH a new Michelin map of France ready for our trip next year..........he can spend hours pouring over a map. I also got a kingsize quilt cover from the Barnados charity shop to use as a sleeping bag when we go away, you can slip into it and use it as a top and bottom sheet.......£3.50 I am going to see if I can pick up a single sheet to make pillow cases with................from a charity of course!!!!!
OH is still moaning about his gut although he has not got the runs anymore, he does have IBS so I think its that but like most men he is dying slowly!!!!
I did not cook the lamb yesterday, he had poached eggs for his supper, but come what may he is getting his lamb tonight.............
We had a peaceful night last night with our noisy neighbour away, we await to see if he returns have not seen my friend today.....may go down later and see her. Were woken at 8am by a chain saw, we had a branch come down on a tree opposite on Friday, the workmen were there cutting it off and feeding it through the shredder..............talk about rude awakening.
Right off for now........thinking about JackieO, hope all goes well for her today. To anyone who is affected by the floods, I do hope that things improve and you get your leccy/water back and the flood water subsides soon, it must be dreadful...........September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

Sent him a text and he's appeared online moaning he has no credit and isn't in at the moment and will text later. I'm not being unreasonable. It's my money I want back not someone elses. oooooh makes me soooooooooo mad. I know he's trying it on
