Good morning everyone
Happy Birthday Taplady and a belated Happy Birthday to Snowy.
Scuzz you are better off without exbf. He plays too many mind games and I think you can see that now. Be strong, it won't take too long for him to get the message.
JackieO fell about laughing at the doc screaming at your Bridget Jones "granny pants". :rotfl: Hope all goes well for you today.
It's supposed to rain later but at the moment it is dry and sunny. We are going swimming shortly. Haven't been swimming since last year. I hope the lifeguard doesn't try to remove the beached whale from the water.
Tomorrow looks like the best day of the week for us so I'm looking at taking DS and DD to Muncaster Castle for the day. It's quite a drive away (which will be a challenge in itself for me as I'm not the most confident driver) but looks good fun and is in the lake district so the scenery will be fantastic too.
Chicken is defrosting as we speak so a roast chicken dinner for us tonight. Lunch will be whatever we can dig up out of the fridge.
(((hugs))) to all those who need/want one. I have read everybody's posts but have no memory at all at the moment. Have a marvellous Monday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Good Morning All
Not looking forward to work this morning, serious attitudes there, I may end up walking out today! The boss came back from her hols on friday, and wanted a low down of everything whats happened. A girl has been taking the mickey and not pulling her weight, plus she's been at work using the MSN when your not suppose to. I told the boss in confidence these things, and it looks like this girl know's what I did/said. I cant stand working in atmosphere's, especially when Im feeling so rotten as it is!
happy birthday taplady, Have a great day!
Aussielass - did you ever find out why XDIL is acting weird/strange! That must have been awfull to see DGS like before he left!
jockettuk - i know th efeeling regards attitude's when the kids return from their dad's. Had the same problem friday night!
dlb - leave the kids with FIL & got shopping yourself! And take your time about it! Good luck! I know how much you dread his visits.
Anyway, justgoing to check the job centre page before work
Have fun

Morning all
No school yaay! No mad dash to get kids out the door and vaguely presentable.
A man is supposed to be coming today to quote on the work we need done in the kitchen before the kitchen fitter comes to do his stuff. Let's hope he turns up, stayed in all friday morning waiting for one guy - hasn't turned up yet. I'd rather people said "No" straight out than say "Yes" then not bother. Must be nice to be able to ignore work - and it's quite a lot of work too! So fingers crossed all of you 1. that the guy turns up and 2. it's a reasonable amount (preferably free, but that ain't gonna happen)
DH has finished HP - and I haven't even started it yet! NOt like me to not "get tore in" to it right away. My.
Need to tidy house this am (Aussie - what's the morning equivalent of arvo?) Then hopefully the rain will stay of and the kids and I can get out somewhere. P'raps the beach.
Take care all
Happy birthday Taplady (and Snowy for yesterday)

Morning all,
Happy birthday to Taplady (and Snowy for yesterday). Scuzz - he's not worth it! Lose him somewhere.
Woke up to a drizzle - not a surprise considering we're in Gloucestershire. Surprisingly we still have water - we're all expecting it to have been cut off last night as we thought we're in the Tewkesbury pumping station range. Have decided not to wash clothes etc, until the situation is clearer later in the week. Feel very sorry for those badly affected. Quite a few skips of debris that used to be possessions within walking distance. Local freecycle is collecting for flood victims.
Not sure what to do today. Gardening is out of the question. Might just have to have a sort through of car boot stuff so it's all in order. Might just price it up to get rid of it - if we ever have a sunny day to go to a car boot.
Wanted to go to Homebase to get some sample pots but I'm not sure how passable the road will be. I know the tarmac has been lifted in several places! Remember how I didn't like the landing paint colour I did? Put 2 different samples over it on the weekend. I hate them both. I actually prefer the first one I put on! Why is colour choice so difficult? I even tried scanning a photo of the room into a colour-choice software package and altering the colours in it. Didn't help! .... actually all that seems rather petty considering other people's woes at the moment!
Heard a silly flood story! Elderly people, including neighbours of a friend, were out for a monthly special lunch on Friday. Rain started, local area started flooding. Because they'd already pre-paid for their lunch they stayed all the way through it - eating their puddings with flood water coming up through the floor !!!!!!   Surprisingly enough, their way home was blocked so they weren't able to get home until the next morning. People.
Just heard the sound of a shovel - more clearing out going on nearby.
Have a good day folks.0 -
JackieO - your pants made me laugh and reminded me of when dd was pregnant. I used to take her to ante-natal in her school uniform and she would reveal to all and sundry the most improabable thongy stringy things with something like "Naughty little Devil" printed on them - oh the shame! Later as she got bigger she asked if she could borrow some of my knickers as hers were too small - "you know mum some of those big granny ones you wear" - oh you mean my best knickers do you - hmmmm. All the girls have expressed concern at the fact that in the event of their being run over by a bus my first and overriding concern would be whether their underwear is clean and decent LOL
busy day off today - 10yodd has an ear appointment at 10am and must also go and get her wonky glasses fixed and then am popping into 18yodds to see dgs. I am also having passport troubles - there is a plan for the girls to go to canada this summer courtesy of dsis and exbil so I sent their passport forms off but they have been returned as the documents were not sufficient - seems they must prove their nationality again even though they both have child passports. I have sent off for two copies of my birth certificate and will try again but this is 18yodd's first adult passport and could take six weeks or more apparantly and can't be fast tracked -i think this means the trip is off for this year and am fairly releived as the idea of dgs managing to sit through a seven hour flight fills me with dread - I wouldn't take him - that lad could scream for England!
The syrup cake from "we'll eat again" was shocking - I'm not good at cakes though so it might be me. will have it for pud tonight though with looooots of custardI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Morning all!
thanks for all the happy birthday wishes!:D :T just had money instead of pressies so I can go and buy some new clothes for my new slimmer self!:D due to the flooding I didn't get to go out with DH over the weekend so am hoping to book a days holiday and go out next Saturday instead.Plans for today are that I have to do a couple of hours work this morning(little cash in hand job for pocket money;) ) then hopefully if we can find somewhere open after the floods I'm going out to lunch with Mum and my sister.
Am a bit worried about DH as he's not too well ATM, I always worry a lot with his medical history(2 heart attacks and bypass surgery) but being a typical bloke has gone to work as usual!
JackieO - hope all goes well for you today xx

Happy Birthday Taplady
Hope you have a lovely day xxx0 -
Just had tea and might chill out in front of the computer tonight. I have quite a few sites bookmarked that I haven't looked at yet. DD has the new HP book so I know where her nose will be.
Crazychik No she didn't enlighten us. DD just said tonight how strange she was acting last night so it wasn't just our vivid imagination.I txt her before to ask how her trip back was (she drove) but no answer so far. Mmmmm what a surprise.
Peem There is no morning equivalent but for morning tea it's smoko. If Churchmouse can sing beautifully over the net, I'm sure we can teach you to talk Australian properly.
Taplady It's hard not to worry sometimes. I hope his health improves. Have a lovely lunch with your Mum & Sister.
Sarah :rotfl:You poor thing. I would tackle the crawly things first.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning everyone!
<<Hugs>> to everyone who needs one, or would like one.
Very tired this morning. Had an IUS fitted last week; I had been warned that because I haven't had children it might be a bit painful. It was. To my embarrassment, I swore (a lot) at one point, and afterwards I felt really pathetic. After the first day it stopped being painful and subsided into a severe period pain feeling. Now it's just a background uncomfortableness, but its still tiring. I really hope it's worth it!
Still. I think about Tewksbury, and JackieO, and I know it's silly to moan about the little things.
Need to go to the gym today, I haven't been for two weeks now. I'm just trying to work up motivation.
No housework today, house is clean and relatively tidy. There are lots of blackcurrants which need picking, I think I'll freeze this lot as I've already got more jam than I can handle!
Off to the library again today for more books. I've found that this is such an excellent way to try before I buy. It's so different from when I was a kid - I can do so much online from home. The online catalogue is brilliant, I can renew books online (what a godsend), reserve them, and they'll send them to my local library which is about 500 yds from my house. I can't believe I wasted all those years in between!
Dinner tonight will be "braised oxtail with borlotti beans".
Right, need to give myself a big kutb and get going.
Catch you all later xxxx0
