One thing Sainsburys is better at is able to use till spit coupons on the same day on issue.

I and my friends when buying clothing, CDs, electrical etc, pays for them separately to our food shop. We do our food shop first and if we get a brand match coupon, £2 off £20, we are able to use it against the clothes.

Tesco's pricematch coupons can be used from the following day..

Re the spirits non-points, its a duty thing and eventually all supermarkets will have to go to do this. I know some chains don't have a loyalty point scheme, when using a £5 off £40 voucher that Aldi do in the Mirror, spirits will not count towards the £40. So if you bought £12 on spirits, you need to spend a total of £52.

Sainsburys' colleagues do not get discount on spirits anymore.

So that's a £500 spend before we get £2.50? I hardly use Tescos so no idea if that is the same.
Plus you can no longer only cash-in at £2.50 - they bumped the minimum up to £5.

So if you find £20 of stuff to buy every single week you could only use your card once a year.

I usually pay for 1 random item, such as milk / loaf of bread, before my main food shop. This often generates a till spit that can be used with the bulk of my shopping.

and we rotate 4 cards for the coupons (which.. were getting almost none of..) :( eep! I hope they offer us more points via coupons at least to make up for it!

    I hope...

I need Sainsbury's for their free-from range, and their fresh stuff is better quality than the nearby Tesco or ASDA. No Morrison's. Tesco, ASDA & Aldi here cater for a completely different demographic. Fine, that's obviously what sells locally, but I'd be stuck if I didn't have Sainsbury's.

Disappointing about the points and bag points though.
