Sky TV, Sky Talk and Sky Broadband

  • We have Sky+, Sky multi-room, 2 mixes,(£44) BB (£10) and SkyTalk (£5) and installation was £99 cos we chose multi-room. Be warned though. When they took our order they didn't place the order for BB or SkyTalk until we rang and complained...we had to wait for it and only got it after 3 weeks. Check when you place your order exactly when it will be installed.

Yes but we don't have a dish, and to get a dish it costs £120 to buy and install.

i am also a member of WHICH MAGAZINE and they say not to touch SKY or ORANGE, saying that they are useless at the moment ( august 07 issue).

We didn't have a dish either, the engineer brought it with him. I think it's because we have Sky Multiroom that the installation cost was less. It's £10 a month which is the cost of the dish but spread over your monthly payments and you have an extra room to watch in.;)

I agree but Virgin media isn't available in the area we moved to or we would have just transferred what we were already on

Just come off 12 with sky

TV- not sure we watched enough to justify TV alone ( at £15pm, but we got some quidco money plus free movies for 6 months)

BB - took 4 months to work after activation date, very poor customer services IMHO , then down 4 weks after house move ...
( that said I've friends who are happy - so maybe my line! )

Talk - good value, but again c/s not great ( hassle when we moved house)

You do not have to pay extra for a dish, its included in the standard installation costs, which if you are quick is £30 no matter what package you buy.

You are dealing with Sky and not some independent supplier?

Check out the link I gave you in may last post.

That's utterly ridiculous! We were lucky with just 3 weeks then! I asked them why it took them 3 weeks, BT only 5 days and Virgin did it on the same day as they install your TV...they blamed it on BT
  • Apologies, our installation was £99 because we had a Sky+ box installed

    I've been Money Tipped!
I changed to Sky broadband at the beginning of June. It was only after I had signed up for it that I read all the negative comments on here and on the Sky forum. I was dreading it but I have to say I have had no real problems. At the start I had a bit of trouble with the router but an engineer talked me through it (I know nothing about these things) and it has been fine ever since.

I am paying £20 a month for Sky tv and broadband whereas I was paying BT £22 a month just for broadband. My BT broadband used to just throw me off pretty frequently - so far no such problem with Sky
