Hope you've all managed to get loads done today. Congrats Dr AimeeLister. Your smiles speak volumes!
Sorry to hear about all the problems with flooding. I'm very lucky - I live at the top of a hill! **Hugs** to all of you who need them.
Done loads in the kitchen today - at least a level two, verging on a level three, despite having to tear two toddlers apart every five minutes, so I'm feeling very proud of myself. Also made a start on tidying the living room - could barely see the floor for the toys. DD was so good, when asked if she could put something safely away in her bedroom, she kept replying 'Course I can' and trotting off with the item in question (although I did find some of the things dumped in the hall later!). Of course, she spoilt it all by being a little monster during tea.
Read HP over the weekend - wasn't sad enough to join queue at 1am as one of my friends did - he had to wait until 3am before he got the book! Now feel it's time to rejoin the rest of the world as I've been acting rather zombie-ish over the weekend. Feel sad series is finished but also relieved to think I won't run the risk of someone 'accidentally' spoiling the book for me now, I hate people who tell you the ending of a book or give away a plot twist
Buyers for our house have asked us if we can complete in 4 - 5 weeks time! We still need to get the results of the survey on the house we want to buy. I'm going to print out a calendar that I can carry around with me and scratch notes onto it. So much to organise now - removal people, getting furniture dismantled, etc. Think I'm going to do a 6 week meal plan, so it's one less to think about. I want to empty the fridge/freezer and kitchen cupboards as much as possible before we go. Anyone up for a bacon and lemon curd butty??:rotfl:
Sold my first few items on Ebay yesterday - all packed and ready to go to post office in the morning. Spent ages listing everything, most of stuff didn't sell, and spent ages packing it all up for about a £10 return - gonna take a long while to become a millionaire at this rate!
Nighty nite,

morning all
i imagine i'm the only one still up! i'm up in birmingham at the moment helping my mate move into a new place. (she moved from bournemouth). i'm quite awake and i can't find my novel so i've managed to get onto wireless and catch up on here!
it's been quite a productive day and one where its hard to believe its still the same day i got up! i woke up early at OHs, he went to work, i did quite a bit of wedding stuff (mainly to do with the cake) and thenm met him for lunch before driving from croydon to birmingham. then have worked flat out sorting the house out. my friend is not very practical so has looked to me to oversee how its best to go about sorting the house. i also had the pleasure of choosing all the paint colours (the house comes with the job). tomorrow we're going to ikea to pick up some bits and bobs she needs.
am not sure how well i'll sleep as this bed's not very comfyoh well.
happy flying to you all, i'll be doing lots of cleaning and organising here (i got her to chuck 2 big boxes of kitchen stuff she'd blatantly never use today)

Morning all :hello: I am so tired
:silenced: Didn't see OH out to work again this morning but as soon as he shut the door I was suddenly wide awake  Never mind, I'll see him out at least one day this week...I think :rotfl: It's lovely and peaceful here without DD but I'm not getting very far with the jobs I want to get done.
I didn't tackle the kitchen yesterday, instead I tackled the understairs cupboard  I only filled one binbag this time and that was mostly bits that were damaged beyond use, a re-jig (including moving the filingcabinet back into the livingroom as we're using it more than I realised) and some varnishing of the filingcabinet & toy(tool in our case) box with quick dry varnish and it's looking soooo much betterI can actually see the back of it and everything that should be in there is in there :j Only 1 more cupboard related job to go - photographing DD's larger (and decent) pieces of artwork from school, putting them into a word document & then printing/filing them in the lever arch folder for school work, originals being thrown in the recycling, much easier to store and they won't get damaged
I've done this years, last years are just waiting to be edited and I still have the nursery ones to do which are the biggest & most difficult
Soooo todays plan is :- Dailies
- Kitchen - Lil-me's list from yesterday
- Livingroom
- Ebay parcels to dispatch to the post office
- Asda shop (purely so I can use the selfscan and get rid of the mountain of silver I have  )
- Ironing - maybe not today but it has to be done!
I'll try to catch up properly later, but hotmail has just shouted that I have 30+ new emails most of which will probably be surveys  :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Morning, the sun's out here!
Didn't get a huge amount acheived yesterday on my first 'proper' day back. A friend came to visit in the morning with doughnuts and a birthday card and present for me. It was my birthday on Saturday and she was away for the weekend. So of course we nattered away and then it was lunchtime and then it was time for me to take DS to the activity at the library I had booked him in for. We nipped into a charity shop whilst we were out and he bought himslef Screwball Scramble for 99p and has been playing it constantly ever since. Then once home it was time to cook tea and by that time I couldn't be bothered!
I did manage to bake a cake and wash down the work surfaces and have a general tidy yesterday as well as one load in the WM.
Off to be busy now for an hour.........it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Good morning everyone,
Well the sun is shining, DH is outside preparing for the hedge-cutting marathon and I've got a load of washing on. So life is looking better this morning!
Amieelister the photos were great - although I can't believe how much water there was! Hopefully that will be me in 4 years' time.
Kazmeister, thanks for making me drool with all that baking. I might just feel inspired to do some baking in preparation for parents' visit at the weekend.
