i nearly bought an ulster plate for the very first car i ever had (1987 mini) was going to have it fully rebuilt as a cooper lookalike and everything (would have cost about £4-5k to do, decided not to as when i had the car i didn't have that kind of money.

am considering one for current car, it was registered at the end of one reg period and it looks strange cos not many of them are that reg number (its a 51 and early ones are 02 or 52)
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)

  • I'll be honest, the only time I like so called "private" plates are on cars where the cost of the car is 1000s of times higher than the cost of the plate, for example, a reg like A1 on a Classic Rolls Royce. You see where I am coming from?

And nothing riles me more than those plates that Stamford mentioned...hellish.

Currently for sale on the DVLA website at £499. Don't pay more!
Y8 MPG is also still available but my Jag is too old for it ;)
hmmm well, with fuel cost as cheap as a ha'penny a mile, and free road tax, perhaps I'd be able to afford it

    each to their own!

i am sure people think stuff i do/own is tacky!

i drive a banger of an old car and when my stereo, i-pod, phone, sat nav, digital camera and assoicated lenses are in the car it probably triples in value (probably more!!!), some folks would say i should get rid of all that stuff and invest in a decent car!

ooooh, you have to be careful who you say that to ;)

I was telling a colleague recently how tacky I thought personalised number plates are... how our managing director had a really crap one... when the person I was talking to revealed that he had an even worse one :o :rotfl: :o

No, but the DVLA offer B19 OAP for £399. I wonder if A89 OAP is going as well?
    Can I help?

I saw a reg plate in Halifax last week that would be great for Martin - although they're a waste of money!

One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.
