cushions on a bed

I did see a show the other night (your home in their hands,) where the designer put about SIXTEEN cushions on the couple's double bed. It took up half the length of the bed, and looked stupid. You wouldn't be able to get into the bed without moving them all, and where do you put them? All over the floor?! You'd be tripping over them in the night!
A couple of cushions is OK, but anymore than that seems pointless IMO. And frankly, an inconvenience. You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
No cushions or throws on my bed, just pillows and the duvet. I can't see what purpose they serve.
I have some cushions on the sofa, the purpose of which is to allow me to prop myself up on it as if it's an Edwardian chaise rather than a sofa.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
I love Your Home In Their Hands! It's the most spectacular car-crash TV. People's perfectly nice, boring houses getting completely ruined, and nobody even pretends to be happy! I'm not surprised one of their designers would cover a bed in that many cushions, I'll bet they were pretty hideous too.I did see a show the other night (your home in their hands,) where the designer put about SIXTEEN cushions on the couple's double bed. I had two pairs of curtains made for bedroom and with leftover fabric thought I'd be housewifely and make matching cushions for our bed.
I made 3 square ones and a small oblong one. They look very nice when the bed is all made but every night I go to bed, chuck them on the floor and think "how stupid am I?" :rotfl::rotfl:
I wouldn't have BOUGHT cushions though so maybe I'm not that daft.0 -
Was in my Mam and Dads bedroom today and on the bed they have 2 oblong decorative pillows and a heart shaped one that I think I bought for my Mam. I've got to admit, it does look nice, but I still couldn't be bothered with it!
I don't understand why anyone would want more than 3 or 4?0 -
I think they look nice but don't and wouldn't have them myself. Too much effort to take them off every night and put them back when I make the bed.0

My bed only gets made when the fresh sheets go on, so no way could I be bothered with cushions. I don't have the time for the housework that really needs doing!
Also my OH works nights and is always in bed until midday, a which point I'm out at work and hell would have to freeze over before it occurred to him to make the bed.
My mother has cushions galore all over the place. I think I've rebelled against the show-home upbringing and am happy to live without the faff!0
