cushions on a bed

No cushions, I do have a blanket though is that the same as a throw? But it gets used most nights at the moment because I only have a 4.5 tog duvet and the heatings not on. Also it gets put in the wardrobe in warm weather.
I don't dress the bed with cushions either but I do have a co-ordinating quilt/throw folded across the foot of the bed in the hotel/showhome style.
What really irritates me in hotels is that often their throws aren't throws at all, They're just a strip of fabric for decoration.
My throw can be opened up and gives us an extra layer for warmth when it's cold. I couldn't be doing with something that was just for decoration.0 -
Yes, I like a few cushions on the bed: maybe 2 or 3.

Not unusual at all.

I don't even open the curtains some days. Certainly couldn't justify paying money for a pure inconvenience!
Here's a shared bedding tip that seems strangely overlooked: have separate duvets. No more pushing and pulling each other all night. (Don't just get singles, either - at least have a double. Each.)Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.
Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
Nothing to add about cushions ...but thought I'd bring another subject further up the troll posts! x0

No, I am a woman and I don't have cushions on the bed (or on the sofa). I pull the duvet down to the end of the bed when I get out of it in the mornings and some days it stays like that until I go to bed.
It annoys me in hotels when there are cushions on the bed. I always think "what is the point?"The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
Arrrrgghh why is there no text on alot of posts just !!!!!!!! and some random letters??0

Personally my bedroom is used only when in bed, whether at night or when unwell and can't understand why anyone would spend time there otherwise.:o
I don't know really :rotfl:i just really like it, it's got a huge bright and ariey window, lots of space so doesn't look cramped, I would rather sit in there and read (a lot) or watch tv, than sit downstairs in the lounge.
DD and I spend a lot of time in there talking, it's where we discuss our day, how work/college was etc. i think it's calming in there and I feel totally at home there.
The lounge just doesn't have that feeling at all.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
I'm guilty of cushions on the beds, both guest room and main bedroom.
I am very clutter free, verging on OCD but I just think the finish the room and make it look softer, Without them the rooms look quite sterile and barrack block like.
My DH is so well trained he takes them off and puts them back on without moaning at all:o
He's also come round to Tempur pillows etc too. He does moan about the two that came with the sofa though. Can I ever learn this budgeting lark? So far it's not looking promising

It sounds a lovely space 74jax. I do like not being bound by conventions of where you sight a room and how you use it (we have our sitting room upstairs in what would trad be the 'master bedroom' as it is full of light and the largest room in the house.I don't know really :rotfl:i just really like it, it's got a huge bright and ariey window, lots of space so doesn't look cramped, I would rather sit in there and read (a lot) or watch tv, than sit downstairs in the lounge.

I think dressing your room with cushions etc sounds a great idea along side the way you use it and feel about it.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
I have a fluffy throw that matches the room at the end up of the bed, thats always folded in half so the top half can unfold whilst we're in bed and use as an extra layer, as we did last night and 4 cushions on the bed. We originally had 2, but as we've since redecorated the lounge, 2 of the cushions that were on the sofas don't 'go' anymore so they've been allocated to the bedroom. I do pick them up and tidy the bed and room every morning before work, and OH does lay ON the cushions which drive me mad!
We also have 2 cushions on our corner sofa but as the backing of it consists of plenty of small cushions, if we had anymore of that, it'd be too much and they're only really there to tie the sofa in with the feature wall.
I like the bed to look nice because our bathroom is directly opposite our bedroom, and the bedroom door doesn't shut so any guests we have over can see into our bedroom when they go to use the bathroom, and we often have an unexpected guest so I like to be prepared!0
