cushions on a bed

Not all of us!
What is the point of putting cushions on a bed to 'look nice' when no-one's in that room during the day and having to take them off to use the bed? Bonkers!
Ah I'm quite often in mine, so not just at night for sleep. I wonder if that makes a difference for me.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
We have two small cushions on each of our 2 beds. In one room they are really useful if you are sitting up in bed leaning against the iron headboard as it's a bit uncomfortable otherwise. In the other room the curtain maker had some fabric leftover and made the cushions for us. Again, useful for propping behind your head when watching TV.
I do get annoyed by loads of cushions in hotel rooms, such a trip hazard when you dump them on the floor.Make £2025 in 2025

I think it's totally pointless and annoying. Having to take numorous cushions off before you can get into bed and then having to put them back on in the morning....I can't be a*sed!0

I think it depends how you use your bed - I read and sleep in mine generally, so I don't need cushions (the pillows do all I require). My DD has 2 or 3 big cushions on her bed, but she uses them to prop up books, ipad etc, she spends a lot of time in her room on/in her bed.
We have loads of cushions on the sofas downstairs - the backs of both of them are scatter-cushion based, and we have about a dozen more of different colours and sizes, which we all re-arrange to suit our sitting/lounging position

No cushions, I do have a blanket though is that the same as a throw? But it gets used most nights at the moment because I only have a 4.5 tog duvet and the heatings not on. Also it gets put in the wardrobe in warm weather.0

A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
The only point in having cushions in a bedroom is either for the dog or to throw at hubby when he comes into the room like a bull in a china shop if I've gone to bed early0

The problem with cushions on the bed is you have to put them somewhere while you sleep.
They also make the bed look more inviting to pets. I'd walk into bedroom and find black labrador fast akip slobbering over them eww. So we gave up on them and wouldn't go back to having them since his demise.
Cushions on Chesterfield, chaise longue, loveseats, carvers, tub chairs oh yes
Cushionless bed doesn't mean uncluttered. OH bought m a soft toy to keep me company in bed while he was away for 18 weeks. My mother took that idea and ran with it and there are now two lambs, a duck and lab puppy in bed with us nightly, rapidly getting flattened plus two bears on a chair in bedroom.
OH pretends not to like them but I've cauht him snuggled with the duck and puppy aww 0 -
Definitely not just a woman thing - out of the 5 cushions on the sofas and the 8 cushions in the bedrooms, OH has chosen 5 of them. Also he really liked a grey knitted cushion that he saw, so I knitted one for him.
He does tend to actually use them too - I'm the one who takes them off the bed at night and put them on again in the morning, whereas he will use them to prop himself up if he's watching TV etc. I don't mind at all - they're there to be used.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0
