    2. It's obvious it's 2.

I haven't checked the 'correct' answer, but I agree.

I could see no sense to it until I looked at the problem from a pre-school angle.

It's on the landing, right at the top of the stairs. There's also no working lightbulb up there (daft new type of bulbs = can't get them easily).

Last one I asked the neighbour if you just pull out the connector or what ... and he offered to do it, so I let him. He'd just done his a couple of days before. But, even so, he was really struggling to get the connector apart (and he's a fit/young man working in a strength-based industry).

There must be '000s of people having to live with these beeps as they're unable to get up there and deal with it. Daft design, designed by able people in their 30s.

I think that, in your position, I would:
    a) Carry the ladder up to the top landing and lean it against the wall, ready for use.
    b) Buy a four-pack of beer.
    c) Ask the neighbour to do it.
    d) Give him the beer.

Well, that was a rather marvellous Grand Prix.

Certainly looks like things may be more interesting this year. :D

Took about 2s by google...otherwise I suspect I would never have got it...I guess had it been a job interview exercise after various other approaches I might have tried an individual character value substitution code but it would not have been first on my list of approaches :(
    I think....

You're right. Trouble is, what sort of beer do blokes drink? I have no experience of beer-drinking blokes, buying blokes beer.

I'm not sure. If you can find Polish beer, find something that says 'Bogaty Smak' on the side, as I think that's worth repeating.

7% alcohol, so give him the beer after he's finished!

I asked my self what a pre-school would notice, and immediately started thinking about lines and corners, then a few seconds later, loops.

It's just one of those coincidences. If I had taken half an hour to work it out, I would have kept jolly quiet about it! :)

I'm saying two too. Took me a while to work out though, mostly because of looking for something more complicated.

Nor me, then I googled and had to read twice before understanding what they were on about.
