We had a car seat that was held in place by the seatbelt and you lifted in and baby out of the car and into the house (where it could 'rock' on its base) or onto the pushchair, which didn't clip in just sat on top of normal pushchair bit that we used when they got bigger. Also used this instead of ever having a pram.
Yes, that was what was used here for a while. Worries me in retrospect because now we know they aren't meant to be in those sort of things for very long are they? But the girls could be out whole days with me, drives, then into pushing thing, and while of course they'd be picked up to cuddle and show things etc, they were essentially in that position a lot.. Bad me.

I am looking at a travel system and think i would go with if asleep they can stay in the seat, it awake out they come and into the pram, likewise if they have been in there a long time asleep sorry they will just be woken up. I do think they say 2 hours in a car seat but I am just going to do with what I think is right with that in mind.
How has the human race lasted this long?
This may sound a little morbid, but on the subjects of sids and angelcare mats (and the like). If in a dying state (old/young doesn't matter) the body starts priotising and shutting down organs etc one by one, the last 3 to stop and lungs, heart and then brain. So in short a breathing monitor will only let us know when its already too late, yes it would be hard to accept but nothing can really stop it if its meant to be, yes it would pick up suffocation but the odds on that are so low if not impossible if you give them nothing to suffocate with.

A couple'd bought a 1950s non-standard construction shack, for demolition, and the 0.9 acres had badgers. They explained the rules and stuff.
In short: criminal offence to build around them/disturb them; you have to persuade them to move to a new home; persuading needs a license and can only be done April-November; having persuaded you have to wait 21 days to see if they return to their old home and if they do you have to start again. They weren't allowed to even start until they had planning, which took them a year - then it took a whole year to persuade their badgers to move down the plot a bit so they could start building.
My friend's new build 15 years ago had a short back garden of about 25', then an earth bank 3' high .... and there were badgers. In an attempt to make her garden badger-proof (as they would come in and dig up all her fancy lights and garden ornaments etc) she was at one point standing on top of the earth bank - and discovered there was a whole badger set inside it when she suddenly found herself inside it up to her waist.
...unless you're in Gloucestershire, in which you can just shoot them.
The badgers don't live on site. They have, I am told, been active in this particular area since the University of Birmingham started building a great big new accommodation block nearby.
The gardener put barbed wire around the boundary for the last owner. New owner (my client) asked him to remove it again as risk to the children (understandable). Net result is this malarky.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

PasturesNew wrote: »Who knows.... some oddities in the story I'd like explaining. e.g. the DM says her husband was in court (ex? new? as the prosecuted name was her maiden name). £6million ... how? Didn't marry into money as address is a scabby council estate - and her job won't have paid much. Must have been the sum of repeated winnings/losses over time. So most of the £6million she'd have not seen. The article did say she never withdrew any winnings, just put them back in.
e.g. gamble £20k, win £19k. Gamble £19k, win £18k. Gamble £18k, win £17k. That'd add up to nearly £60k of "your own money" although only £20k of real "your own money" ever existed.
There should be a gambling limit that automatically kicks in. Gambling nearly £2million in one year should have raised flags .... when you live in a council house.
The house edge of bingo itself is around an 80-85% payout on what you bet, hard to be sure its not as widely regulated as casino's and sports bookmakers all of whom are complete rogue's whenever they can get away with it.
Slots tend to be 93-98% and table games like blackjack roulette 99%, huge amount of variance in this though she could have indeed been lucky a few times. My guess is she was pre-buying max tickets on all games each day in a 30 minute time period. which makes it very easy to waste a lot of money quickly.
Why people play these games i have no idea they are mind numbingly boring! When using the housing forum please use the sticky threads for valuable information.0 -

That brings back not too fond memories of the carrier bag of urine at the library:eek:.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? In theory, I'd love that. In practice, I doubt anyone would make it to my satisfaction so I'm better off doing it myself. I've known this person for a fairly long time. But now they know me a lot better as I've gone through some of my pet hates. :eek:0
