So, I cannot have the surgery where I thought I was going to have it.....where the consult phys and endocrinologist want it, NHs trust won't pay for it there for some reason.
I have no strong feelings either way any more. I'm going to meet someone at yet another hospital in two months. They have also expressed concern about my psychological state and making decisions about such surgery. Pfft. Different way of thinking is not damaged, and this is what I REAlLY dislike about biscuit cutter Britain of now. If I were perfectly well I'd hold the same views.0 -
You don't need to take the kids along to register them, or at least you didn't need to when I last did it. That was 1991, though, so things may have changed.
DW and I took the 1991 out last night for dinner. A bit of what we term 'only child treatment' , which is quite important when you have five.
You don't... But because we aren't married we both had to be there in order to have them registered with my surname so as we both had to go, so did the twins!0 -

At least ms chewy will be spared ever being referred to as 'your good lady wife'. Why are some phrases so frustrating, especially when not meant at all offensively?0 -

Because they're patronising?0 -

When same sex couples get married, what do they do about surnames? In my day, it was almost always the case that married women took their husband's surname, but they might continue using their maiden name for work.
I know a lady who had two children with her partner. They never married. The partner died in a RTA, and eventually she changed her surname so it would be the same as the children's.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Because they're patronising?
Yes. And inaccurate. I am in fact often very very not good.. How someone who barely knows me would like to guess whether I am good or bad, or a lady ( I'm not, I'm a woman, and proud of it) cares to presume I don't know.
Anyway, gratingly it have to have to meet with said person alone and I already have slightly taken against him because of the 'g.l.w.' Phrase. So I'll have to do my best pretend not !!!!ed off in that meeting, as we actually quite need what he's peddling. :rotfl:0 -
