I can see the mesh loop of piping. That has a small plastic thing at either end that look like they'd both move if twisted.
That mesh pipe then feeds into one of three large thumb sized levers. They look scarey.
As regular people will do this regularly ... why didn't the industry convention decide that a small "thing that looks like a regular sink tap" would be the best way to go?
We changed ours over to a proper tap. It works much better than the tiny stop valve that was there before.
You are going to have to do something soon, as your heating will be off until you do. So, it's a choice between:
Getting a little man to do it (for quite a lot of money if he** has to come specially)
getting your neighbour to do it
doing it yourself
sitting in the cold
** I say he, but there are quite a lot of ladies doing this work these days. I know a lady plumber and a lady decorator. The latter is on television sometimes. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Jealous much.....wish we had enough mains pressure that it would get half way to over-pressurising the boiler.

I thought boiler pressure was based on how much water you push into the system, not on the pressure of the water as it goes in??I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Hi LIR **wavy smilie**
Having a horrible time with my back. I sat on the floor for 45 minutes yesterday and am really paying for it today. I'm going to the docs tomorrow to get a referral to a rheumatologist to get some better advice.0 -

Probably not a good time to mention that I got a little sunbuned today and it was 28C I guess. As part of my attempt to get fitter I did 600m in one of the local pools.0 -

I think getting that advice on what is best for your back short as well as longer term is worth it even if you have to pay as the current approach doesn't seem to be working...then again I know I always err too much on the side of caution so my advice is probably biasedProbably not a good time to mention that I got a little sunbuned today and it was 28C I guess. Well done! (For the 600m, not the sunburn.)
You can swim wearing a T shirt, if sunburn is an issue. Or use waterproof sun cream, ofc. I'm not sure which is worse.

There'll be a small cost for the first appointment with the rheumatologist but after that the insurance company will pick up the tab.
If I don't get proper advice my fear is either that I'll end up being hugely over cautious and so miss out on doing fun stuff or, worse, end up inadvertently doing something that will end up stuffing my back up even more. If I'd known I had arthritis I'd never have gone skating and my back would be far better now.0 -

As long as you don't get talked into having a back operation. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I got the sunbun clearing out the storage unit with Mrs Generali.
Over here we have special swimming T-shirts called rashies. They're great.0
