Went to the end of the earth today. There were penguins.

Did you look underneath and see the stacks of turtles?

I so so want to see penguins but (a) I don't like the cold and (b) I don't like travelling long distances to cold places.

I don't really like travelling long distances. OH needs to go abroad next month and asked if I wanted a weekend in Vegas. No I don't want an 11 hour flight to spend 48 hours somewhere, even if it means a fun weekend.

I so miss being 'me'. Before all this carp I would have thought the long flight for 48 hours perfect. Its being a longtime somewhere that got on my goat because of stuff to do back here.

I want 2015 to be the year I am well enough to fly again.

    And I hope it is.

I've decided I want 2015 to be the year I stop just existing and start living again :)

Edit: I appreciate the irony that I will see in this new year sat at home on my own :) But I'm sure I'll have a nice enough evening.

Vegas could work for the weekend if you're able to fly at least one way without being in traveller. I haven't been to Vegas for the weekend (have been to Vegas), but have been to LA, NY, Boston and Orlando for the weekend. DH used to go to Tampa for the weekend to watch the football (note to purch if he's reading - when they were good - not worth the fare now). The food, shopping, entertainment (and if you are into it gambling) are great in Las Vegas. On the other hand, I wouldn't recommend a weekend in Melbourne to see the penguins...

Whose stupid lazy idea was takeaway anyway? :o

    Tonight, mine :D

Treated us on the energy switch money from Martin, even though I probably should have put that into savings or something.

We're not doing takeaways, alcohol or microwave meals in 2015 at all, so the final one surely can't be too bad.

Hope you're feeling better soon LiR!

    Exactly how I feel.

2014 has been pretty awful. Loneliness, heart break, unemployment... The worst thing is my lack of friends around here. Before this year, even when everything else has been falling apart I've always had a good group of friends around, but now I don't. I think that's the worst thing.

I'm determined for 2015 to be better :)

TBH I would consider it if I wouldn't be flying alone both ways. I can buy in to the idea that the flight is part of the trip if there is someone to share it with. Travelling on my own makes me nervous and would spoil the trip for me. Have done NY for a long weekend and that was fun.

The amount of arguing caused by a group of my friends agreeing on spending NYE together makes a night in look attractive. We won't be repeating.

Another group of friends planned and bought tickets to the fireworks in central London, only to find you have to be in your position by 9.30pm. With a disability, one managed to get the group moved to an area where they could sit down, but 3 hours sitting in the cold is not attractive when you are not in good health.
