    Happy Christmas to everyone.
I have been up for some time, everyone else is fast asleep. Maybe I should go and open all the bedroom doors and give a hearty rendition of some Christmas carol..
I am concerned about my neighbours, though - they are in their 70s and he has a lung infection and she has a chest infection. We are checking up on them and doing what we can; their daughter lives about 30 minutes away but hasn't been seen, and SIL couldn't come to get them as that would mean he couldn't have a drink before he drove them back. Bah humbug. Neighbours are such a lovely couple.

That's very sad. I feel for people having problems like that at this time of year, especially over here where the weather is depressing too.

I've been up for an hour or so. The Generalissimos are very excited with the gifts Santa brought.

You could give them a blast of Jingle Bells, Aus style:

    Dashing through the bush
    In a rusting Holden ute
    Kelpie by my side
    Esky in the boot
    Kicking up the dust
    Singing Christmas songs
It's Christmas time and I am in my singlet, shorts and thongs!

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summer's day, Oh!
Jingle bells, jingle bells Christmas time is beaut
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusting Holden ute.

I can never understand people like that....family comes first, certainly before an alcoholic drink!

I haven't had a drink on Christmas day for at least two decades as I am the main ferry people around person and because I am too tight to pay out for a taxi. Came in handy 18 years ago tomorrow, I was the only one able to take my sister and partner up to the maternity unit where she ended up with an emergency C section because I was the only one who hadn't had a drink up to that point! I used to drink on Boxing day but only once we had arrived at my parent's after dinner with the in laws, so fairly late on in the evening and it was when we arrived at my parent's house that my sister felt something wasn't quite right.

Mind you, the same ward and yes, the same blooming midwife tried to palm my sister off too, I refused to take them home with me, got a little defensive with them (with only 10 weeks between Josh and his cousin, things were still a little raw) and it proved to be the right thing. She had suffered a complete placental abruption and we nearly lost both her and my beautiful niece and would have done if she had not been at the hospital when things got really eek.

My usual alcohol partaking is New years eve and even then, not to any particular excess.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Here we are in sunny sheringham! The dawn was beautiful, all pinks and blues, and now the sun is streaming in through the bedroom window. It's lovely to wake up here on Christmas morning, having got the driving done yesterday.

Wishing a very happy Christmas to all the NP and their families.

We are lying in bed, cajoling each other to get up and go for a walk in the ahem bracing sea breeze.

Still in bed! The quality of the cajoling leaves much to be desired.

The coop had 75% off crackers, so we bought a box of 12 for 10p each. The crackers are really smart, and the snaps are excellent. Unfortunately, the contents are on a par with the price.

Do you think that, if you pay more, the jokes are better? 'Where does Santa learn to climb down chimneys? The chimnasium!' Maybe that is more amusing if you are sloshed?
