But that's the point, GDB. It was what SHE wanted, and HER baby didn't care. Great. However, if anybody had tried to put a large napkin or scarf over either of my babies when they were feeding, they'd have grabbed it and yanked it away or even waved it about. Both mine were wriggly little things. I found my own way to be discrete about it, which mostly involved wearing tops with hidden openings.

It's fine for Claridge's to expect mothers to be discreet - or as discrete as their particular baby is willing to be! (Some babies like to suck a bit, turn round to stare at the room, turn back to the boob and suck a bit more, and repeat. It makes discretion difficult, but it's hard to explain to the baby that you don't want them to do this.)

It's not fine for Claridge's, or any of their staff, to try to specify the particular method of discreetness to be used.

My kids were wrigglers too. But that was fine because I never had any intention of feeding in public.

I've missed Viva :( I had a super duper free place for her to park.

Viva, if you do log in before the event, the entrance is in Maxwell Road, through a muddy stretch of park. You, more than most (that's hint 1), should be able to think of an ideal place to park free. Think of the building pre- 96 (hint 2) that is sitting half empty with all that lovely parking to the side, that people won't use because they won't realise the building isn't in use.

Smiths of Smithfield took a dim view of Mrs Generali feeding The Boy over brekkie.

I will never return and will not engage in conversation about why I should change my mind although I might give the manager at the time a straight right if (s)he wants it. Happy to punch that fwit again and again.

I imagine that only works if you feed to a schedule. I know a lot of people find getting the baby into a routine is the best thing ever - hence the success of Gina Ford's books. I'm not a very schedule sort of person, though - I find the word "routine" has connotations of "boredom" and "restriction" to me. Is that immature of me? Anyway, you won't be surprised to hear I was the "feed them when they cry or seem hungry, and never mind what the clock says" kind of mother. If I'd wanted to make sure I never had to feed in public, I'd have had to stay at home until they were weaned. ;)

Edit - forgot to mention. The tap has arrived. It is bigger than I thought, but I am happy to report that the motion does indeed seem smooth and easy. Helpful Builder is due about now to fit it. I will post pics later.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Thanks silver. You won't believe this - but this is how hardcore Strictly is - we were out and queueing at Maxwell Road at 9.25 and got our stickers three hours later. Even though we were there for three whole hours, there were still over 200 people in front of us. For all but the last 20 minutes the temperature barely rose above freezing as the path was in the shade. Have popped home for a quick bite to eat, warm up and change before going back again.

Parked at the Civic Centre, which was worth it as its a bit closer than the other place and was worth it not to have broken my leg on all of the ice.

Would someone please tell me to get moving :o

I would have done, but I was out. :)

Walked to the doctors, and tied the mutt to the lamp post outside. The amount of fuss that caused from various passers by. 'Someone could have stolen her!' Yeah, sure! But I did thank them for their advice and said I would be sure to bear it in mind in future.

Don't people realise that the option is that the mutt stays at home whilst I go to the doctor, or she gets a nice walk but has to sit around for a while outside? I know which the mutt prefers.

I then took her along to the pet parlour, to have a bath. That means we'll hopefully have one fewer dog. At the moment, we have the mutt, Dog, Doglet, Kiri, Little Dog, and Dogalorum. After the bath, we hopefully won't have Smelly Dog, at least for a while.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

It's fair to say that the Tepilo messaging system isn't great. It's extremely selective about whether it decides to alert you message or not and the website is not mobile friendly. I have to physically log in on the laptop to be certain of receiving anything.

    Basically, I have missed stuff.

I did get up, I have not stopped moving and I have not eaten anything because I don't have much, if anything in the way of diet friendly food. Oh well, burning off calories on an empty stomach, it is.
