I have heating!
I had been told they would arrive between 10 and 11 this morning and if earlier, no earlier than 9.30 because of the school run.....7.50 this morning, knock on the door and they had arrived.
Josh was mid getting dressed (he had got as far as putting his underwear on) and youngest was still in bed after having a very bad night and not getting to sleep until 6 ish (me and him both, he has a bad night, then so do I ).
They gave us an extra 15 mins in which time I got the things done that I needed to do and then they started. They were like whirlwinds, within an hour all the old rads had gone and the boiler was sitting in my front garden redundant.
They've been gone about half an hour now and although the builder and electrician need to come in to finish off, I can operate the central heating manually until the electronic timer is installed.
The rads looks so swish, really posh and so much better than my old ones and better still, all of them work and for the first time since the boys were toddlers, we have a radiator in the downstairs hallway and the kitchen rad works.
My house looks horrendous though, I had to do a quick emergency emptying of my largest wardrobe as it was just (literally about 1 cm) over the radiator.
Lovey to have a nicely warming up house though, very very much worth it.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Great news Sue, hope you and the boys enjoy being warm! And that there is more sleep achieved tonight

I've had to put my big girl pants on today, and pack some extra pairs. Nothing particularly big in the NP scale of events, but its going to be added stress for me and I'm not coping very well with a certain source of stress as it is. Need to channel my inner grown-up. If I can find it.

SS, it will take a while to warm up the house....the solid bit. It would be worth, if you can bear it, to leave it on all day for a couple of days, even if you wait till the weekend if you guys are all home then, after that the house will keep much warmer I think. That's what I find anyway. I'm guessing it depends what your house is made of and how insulated.
Speaking of which, of you haven't taken advantage of the free insulation installations ...DO.

Re my pill changes....
Some one in an aside on marriages board posted something that helps me understand why, as well as the poor fit to the alternatives, the swaps are so hard, apparently its a known thing with anti seizure drugs, and different categories of them are swapped with different levels of caution ( 1-3) my swapped one is cat two, depending on patient seriousness, and there should have been a consultation and stuff about it with me / my carer. We'll get a new radio with blue tooth for calls eventually but it will be fun to give the cassettes a whirl. ( or a last hurrah)

We're already toying with putting it on springs instead of the original suspension. That's about five hundred.
. Better to do it by choice then by need and surprise I think. ( plus not found the button for lifting it up and down yet). Not urgent though. 0 -
