That Barry Manilow/ Louis Armstrong duet was odd.

LIR - you guys make so many big decisions all the time, not surprised things end up on the 'another time' pile. I'd guess that we all have them (I definitely do).

Edit: In fact that's probably part of the problem I'm trying to face now. There are so many things on my 'another time' pile, and I'll significantly fewer [STRIKE]reasons [/STRIKE] excuses not to address a great deal of them when my hobby is no longer!

What I really miss ou and other educational programmes on bbc at night.

Seriously, the more I think about this, the more I miss it. Blank channels now, or reruns of old stuff, never ending twenty four hour news on more than one channel, awful films.

I wish they would rerun this old stuff forever on an channel they leave otherwise unused overnight.

Also, why is there no indoor excercise channel? Like the green goddess sort of stuff in half hour slots to suit people with varying needs from preschoolers to wheel chair bound to elderly. Daily yoga, or tai chi? Then maybe some work at home vigorous aerobics or something to get heart rate up a few times a day?

Their is a chair bound yoga class in one of the local town halls. Wouldn't that be public broadcasting?

See how well you know him. ;):rotfl:

He drove the other one to day...the otherworlder? Loner? What ever it was called, like a bag out of hell, and still managed to get decent economy out of it though, so it seems a decent drive, but my first instinct was right, its too big for a run around car IMO, and too lightweight for a working vehicle. They mentioned the shogun should be operating on the hybrid thing in 3-4 years.

Its really very seamless between engine and battery, and was Very stable as a passenger, best ride in back seat had for a long time.

    You bought a hybrid?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Lir, what about watching some Coursera or TED lectures instead? Good substitute, and in the case of maths, without the macho moustaches and 1970s flares.

Well done, what in? Are you a rocket scientist, or did you do meejah studyz?

    :)

I guess it's mostly just me and Sue here now without one. Who else doesn't have a degree/higher?

I don't have one. Just GCSEs and a Foundation in Art & Design.

I think the great thing about that programming is that when you didn't have to commit and had no great plans you could just ....watch a programme on some aspect of geography you knew nothing about and would never sign up to study or brush up on some gcse maths, or whatever. In stead of wasting those wee small hours of wakefulness yet inability to read or or relax, instead of putting carp on tv you could actually benefit in someway and think...oh, I'd like to know more about that.

I loved that programming at stressful junctures in life in particular. I know a lot of it will be ood now, but the language and arts programming won't, the maths won't.

Those things for teachers though, where it said to record , we never got shown any of them in school, I don't know if other school systems used them more. I thought some of them were super.

Doozer used to be in a lot of those in the 90s. I'd wake up in the middle of the night and he'd be on the TV.

The TV thing I mentioned before came to them him offering a proper job on daytime TV. The first commission is 20 episodes. He had to turn it down because we're so busy right now and their timescales were ridiculous - a formal offer on Wednesday of a full time job starting on tomorrow, otherwise he'd have loved it. If he's very lucky, they will offer him the second batch.

When abroad we put the destination on the iphone when on wifi and its map calculate the route. Once out in the car we have no wifi and no data, but it continues to direct along the route using GPS to know where we are. Works fine except it doesn't know about traffic jams and can't re-route if you leave the path.

Useful to know. Does the iPad2 have GPS facility?
