We have a double birthday tomorrow. Two of our children were born on 16 November, 5 years apart. So, DW has banished me from the kitchen, so she can make a birthday cake for one and a birthday pavlova for the other. I'm sadly not allowed to help.

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day GDB? ;)

Happy birthday x2 for your children. Hope they have a lovely day. A friend of mine is past her due date. She was born on the same day as her mum and it's her dad's birthday this week. She's hoping thats a sign...

And she's stressing because she's never made meringue before. As it happens, I have, but she won't let me help.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I'm shocked by that question! :)

We freeze bread too, worse that happens is occasionally you get two slices instead of one ( three is always divisible into two and one, sometimes two can be tricky to break down into two ones.

( same happened with crumpets, we freeze them, but they can actually stick quite hard occasionally).

    Happy Birthdays!

I guess they are too old to relight the candles and claim it is their cake too?

Would like to recommend the film, "The imitation game".

We watched maleficent tonight, on the basis it was already nine twenty by the time we were choosing what to watch and it was short. These were not high criteria to fulfil, thus its not surprising it exceeded our expectations.

Kiwi has a sore leg tonight, but a long rest on the sofa having his belly rubbed and shoulder and limb gently massaged during the film seem to have improved things.

Dog dog enjoyed hogging the duvet.

The cats decided none of this was for them ( they preferred 'under the skin' which we watched last night) and went elsewhere, probably with RP. and big dog too, took a nap somewhere else in the house, so it was just the four of us.

I'm catching up with Homeland - last week's and one from the beginning of the series when I was away (missed the first couple, and only the second is still available)

Edit: Caught up, time for a hot water bottle and bedtime :)

The Girl is desperate to see Malificent. Over here it's an M (12) but in the UK it's a PG I think. I don't know whether the difference is in the edit or in attitudes.

Also meant to mention - instead of the One Direction calender (as shown in the advert), I picked up a 'The Complete Garden Expert' calender (I was quite tempted by The Hungry Caterpillar, but it was a family planner and I thought that was wholly unsuitbale).

I'm not sure which of One Direction or The Complete Gardener is less cool.

I'm confident I made the right choice for me though. Despite the token 'nice young lad' on the front of my gardening calender (he looks nice enough, but he doesn't feature elsewhere in the calender so I wonder what the point was).
